She was buried on 8 February 1960, at Simeon United Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gratz, Dauphin County, PA.2,7 The probate of Meda's will led to litigation that was described in the following newspaper article:
Upper Dauphin Heirs Deprived In Court Rule
Two residents of Upper Dauphin County Mrs. Iva I. Buffington, Elizabethyille and Walter L. Scheib, Lykens are losers in a decision by Judge Karl E. Richards in Dauphin County Court ordering that the unsigned will of their mother, Mrs. Meta Scheib, late of Penbrook, be admitted to probate.
Under the terms of the will the residuary estate of the late Mrs. Scheib is bequeathed to the Harrisburg Revival Center. The Dauphin County register of wills refused to probate the document, however, because it was unsigned. Counsel for the Revival Center then appealed to the court and Mark T. Milner, Harrisburg attorney, and his secretary, testified that he had prepared the
will, that Mrs. Scheib had signed it in their presence and that the original copy apparently was either lost or mislaid. The court order for probate followed.
Had the will not been probated, the residuary estate of Mrs. Scheib, in addition to her direct bequests to them, would have gone to her four sons and daughters, the others being Mrs. Ruth E. Lewis, Bainbridge and Ralph E. Scheib, Ark. The heirs of Mrs. Scheib did not participate in the court proceedings.
