S. Gordon Brosius, 88, of Herndon R.D., died Saturday evening at 10:30 o o'clock in Northumberland County Hospital, Trevorton Road. He had been a patient there for seven months and had been in failing health the past year.
A native of Jordan Township, he was born August 28, 1878, a son of the late Michael and Kate Bush Brosius. He was a retired line foreman for the Mahatenanand Mahantango Telephone Company of Herndon and had 55 years of service when he retired.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mollie Jean Ochenrider, in 1959. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Urban.
Survivors include six sons and three daughters, Raymond, Millersburg; Robert, Ohio; Albert, Williamsport; Herman, Harrisburg; Naldy, Herndon R.D; Lawrence, Harrisburg; Mabel, wife of Charles Miller' and Daisy Brosius, both of Snydertown and Mae Brosius, Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Landis, Klingerstown and a sister, Mrs. Francis Deppen, Shamokin R.D.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'- clock from the Rothermel funeral home, Herndon. Rev. Paul Billow, his pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Urban. Friends will be received by the family at the Rothermel funeral home Tuesday evening.
