Death In Lykens Township.
A Father's Faithful Helper Taken.
On Wednesday, August 30th, at her home two miles north of Gratz, death came to the relief of Miss Cedia Idella Scheib, a daughter of Mr. Victor Scheib. Her illness began about the first of May, first pronounced Catarrhal fever, but later developing into typhoid. The father and two of his sons were obliged to do most of the house work besides taking care of the sick, and for five weeks prior to her death she was [u]nable to lie down and spent all those days and nights sitting on a rocking chair, in which she died. Her age was 17 yrs. 4 mos. 11 days.
She is survived by two sisters, 3 brothers, one step sister, and two step brothers.
Funeral services were held last Saturday morning, the Reformed pastor of Klinger's church, Rev. Kressley of Hegins conducting the services. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining Klinger's church.
Mr. Scheib lost his first wife, nee Annie Schwalm, fourteen years ago and on June 4th, this year, Mrs. Thomas Bellis, another daughter, aged 24, died at Lykens. And now this last affliction has befallen him, taking his sole household stay from him. Surely he needs all the sympathy and encouragement which christian people can give him.
