    He was born March 21, 1936, in Jordan Township, a son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Kratzer) Leitzel. On Feb. 24, 1973, he married the former Judy A. Kissinger who survives.
    Billy was a lifelong resident of Herndon. He was a graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School Herndon and served in the Army.
    He was employed at the former Milton Shoe Company, Herndon as a plant manager. He later worked at Butter Krust Bakery in Sunbury.
    Billy was a member of the Mandata American Legion and Herndon Fire Company.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Colline King of Stroudsburg; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Toni and Kevin Sponsler of Millersburg, Linda and Gary Mitzel of Reading, Billie Leitzel of Hershey, and adopted daughter, Donna Leitzel of Reading; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Dennis Leitzel of Halifax; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Rutter; and four brothers, Stewart, Lester, Jack and Marvin Leitzel.
    There will be no calling hours.
    The Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Dennis was married to Janette (Teter) Leitzel for 39 years.
    He was a graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School, and the Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport. He retired as an architect from S.M.B and R., Camp Hill.
    Dennis was a member of Valley's E.C.Church, Halifax.
    He enjoyed Corvettes and John Deere tractors and working outside in the yard.
    In addition to his wife Janette he is survived by son Keith Leitzel and his wife Susan of Carlisle, daughter Sherri Shiflett and her husband Brian of Harrisburg, Brandi Switek and her husband Jan of Womelsdorf, and son Jason Koppenhaver and his wife Darcy of Elizabethville, grandchildren Jessica, Stephen, Carly, Sarah, Camden, Alex, Calen, and Jarrett, and great grandson Myca.
    He was preceded in death by his daughter Leslie Smith, siblings Ruby Rutter, Lester, Marvin, Jack, Stewart, and Billy Leitzel.
    The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 at Valley's E.C.Church, Halifax from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at the church.
    The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500 Chicago, Illinois 60611.

    MILLERSBURG - Leslie Kay Smith, age 56, of Riverview Drive, peacefully passed on June 8, 2023 surrounded by her family, at the UPMC West Shore. She was born on October 2, 1966 in Harrisburg, PA and is the daughter of Harry (Dutch) and Ann (Troutman) Long; and Dennis and Janette Leitzel.
    Leslie was the widow of Donald William Smith Jr, whom she was with for 30 years.
    She was a graduate of Penn State University, Class of 1988, and received a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management.
    Leslie was a proud board member and held the position of Museum Director for the Millersburg/Upper Paxton Township Historical Society. She was heavily involved with the community of Millersburg that she loved so much. Leslie enjoyed traveling and attending Penn State University football games with her daughter, Carly, with whom she shared an alma mater.
    She is survived by her daughter, Carly Smith (companion McClain Fultz) of Philadelphia; Mother, Ann (husband Dutch) Long of Halifax; Father, Dennis ( wife Janette) Leitzel of Halifax; Brother, Keith D. ( wife Susan) Leitzel of Carlisle; Sister, Sherri ( husband Brian) Shiflett of Harrisburg; Companion, Rahn Tressler, of Millersburg; Step-son, Eric Smith, and step-daughter, Lyndsey Smith, both of Charles Town, WV; 4 Step-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
    A memorial for Leslie will be held at the family's convenience.
    The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Millersburg/Upper Paxton Township Historical Society and the Ferryboat Association of Millersburg.

Lester retired from Quaker Oats, he enjoyed baseball, traveling, camping and riding his scooter. He was the widower of Betty Dreibelbis Leitzel and also preceded in death by a sister Ruby Rutter and brothers Jack and Stewart. Surviving are two daughters Zoetta Keister and her husband Hal of Lakeland, FL and Yolanda Schadel and her husband Rodney of Dalmatia; grandchildren Heather Splawn of Rutherfordton, NC, Ryan Miller of Halifax, Dustin and Brandon Schadel of Dalmatia; step grandson Hal Keister, Jr. of Tower City; great grandchildren Tylor Miller, Amanda and Blaise Splawn, Skylar and Carter Schadel; great great grandsons James Hudson and Camden Smith; three brothers Marvin of Millersburg, Dennis of Halifax and William of Dalmatia.     LuAnn Wetzel, 70, of Herndon, passed away on September 20, 2024, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville surrounded by her loving family after a fearless battle with cancer. She was born on August 5, 1954 in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Ned and Marlene (Byerly) Long and the late Marvin Leitzel.
    She was a 1972 graduate of Line Mountain High School and was a member of Saint Paul's UCC, Urban. She was a retired manager for American Eagle Outfitters.
    Affectionately known to many as ‘Mom’ or ‘Grammie’, her passing leaves a tremendous hole in the hearts of all the people she touched. LuAnn used her career as a manager in various retail positions to help guide and mentor young people and help shape their futures. She was an avid fan of Penn State football and her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers who brought her so much joy but also the occasional anxiety. LuAnn’s true joy in life was her family who she loved fiercely and passionately. Her annual holiday dinners and birthday picnics were a must for both family and friends, she always made sure no one left hungry. LuAnn’s courageous battle with her illness was truly an inspiration. Her light and spirit will live on within all that loved her.
    LuAnn is survived by her husband Jeffry Wetzel; daughters, Angela Barninger (fiancé Brian), Jennifer Vargo (Brian), Shelly Gilbert (Bobby); son, Bradley Wetzel (Kennedy); grandchildren, Alexa Michaels, Ashlynn Bretz, Drew Barninger, Finley Wetzel, Owen Wetzel; great-grandchild, Hudson Michaels; and granddogs, Mason, Cooper, Archie. She was preceded in death by a brother, Craig Leitzel.
    An open house to celebrate LuAnn’s life will be held in the banquet room at the Best Western Plus, 7701 West Branch Highway, Lewisburg on October 19, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The Rev. George P. Heberling will speak briefly about LuAnn at 4:00 pm for those who would like to attend.1
