Lawrence E. Shade
Lawrence E. Shade, 78, of 209 W. Main St., Valley View, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Mr. Shade was born, Jan. 31, 1902, at Spring Glen, a son of the late Henry and Martha Wolfe Shade. He was a retired miner.
He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, and Valley View Fire Co.
He was the last member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lena Morgan, and a son Mark.
Surviving are three daughters, Marie, wife of Raymond Beard, Florida, Martha, wife of John Herb, Hegins, Phyllis, wife of Anthony Siminitus, RD Pottsville; four sons, Alvin, Pittsburgh, Jim, Valley View, William, Gilbertsville, Gary, Klingerstown; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday morning at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. The Rev. Leland Keemer will officiate and interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Robert Miller Funeral Home, Valley View, has charge of arrangements.

Former Resident Of Pitman Expires
Mrs. Mamie Shade, 66, former resident of Pitman, died this morn ing at 3:00 in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hilbert Clouser. Valley View, after an illness of more than one and one-half years.
A daughter of the late Aaron and Elizabeth (Erdrnan) Snyder, the former Pitman resident was born October 7, 1891, in Leck Kill. She was married to Guerney Shade, who died 31 years ago. Mrs. Shade was a member of St. James Luth eran Church, Pitman.
Survivors include three children, Robert, Rebuck, and Mrs. Hilbert Clouser and Miss Elsie Shade, Valley View; a step-son, Allen Shade, Gratz; a step-daughter, Mrs. Clifford Rothermel, Gratz; four grand children; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, George L.. Snyder and Charles C. Snyder, Leck Kill, and two sisters, Mrs. Delia Miller, Valley View, and Mrs. Carrie Hornberger, Mount Carmel.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown R. D. Burial will be in St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Cemetery, Pitman. Rev. John Keener, Leck Kill, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening.

Mrs. Tamie Shade Snyder, 71 of Harrisburg, e native of Valley View and a former resident of the Klingerstown RD area, died at 3:30 a.m., Thursday at the Dauphin County Hospital, Harrisburg, where she bad been a patient for four years.
She was born June 18, 1898, at Valley View, daughter of the late Daniel and Lydia Runkle Shade. Her husband, Clayton Snyder, died in November, 1964.
Mrs. Snyder is survived by six sons, Clayton M., of Pillow; Thomas, of Lykens RD1; Truman, of Millersburg, Carl, of Wiconisco; Lee, of Elizabethville, and Mark, who is serving with the VS. Air Force in West Berlin, Germany; a daughter, Mary, wife of Lee Straub, of Herndon RD1; 20 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Spayd, of Shamokin, and Mrs. Iva Matter, of Valley View.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the La wrenoe E. Rothermel funeral home, Klingerstown RD. The Rev. Richard Harder, United Church of Christ pastor of Urban, will officiate, and burial will be made to Salem Church Cemetery, Klingerstown RD. Friends end relatives may call after 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
