Paul married Amelia Jane Schwalm, daughter of Frederick Stein Schwalm and Sarah Ann Rubendall, on 21 September 1879, Greenbrier, Northumberland County, PA.4,5 Daniel S. Paul died on 2 January 1918, Porter Township, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 59.3,2 He was buried on 6 January 1918, at Saint Peter's Reformed Cemetery, Orwin, Schuylkill County, PA.6

Daniel Erdman was born on 1 February 1865.1 Some sources record that Daniel Erdman was born on 2 February 1865, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.2 He was the son of Jacob W. Erdman and Catharine Seitz.1 Daniel Erdman married Sevilla Elizabeth Schwalm, daughter of Frederick Stein Schwalm and Sarah Ann Rubendall, on 24 February 1886. A newspaper account reports that the marriage took place at "Squire J.J. Fernsler's, Northwest ward." Presumably this refers to a location in or around Pottsville.3,4,5 Daniel Erdman died on 18 August 1939, Jackson Township, Northumberland County, PA, at age 74.1,2

Funeral services for Daniel Erdman, retired farmer of Jackson township, who was found dead Friday morning of a heart attack, will be held from the Rothermal funeral home in Herndon Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be continued from the Red Cross Church with burial in the Red Cross Cemetery. Rev. Charles A. Snyder, pastor of the Harndon [Herndon] Lutheran church will officiate.
Mr. Erdman is survived by the following sons and daughters, Mrs. Stewart Long[,] Mrs Isaac Byerly, Herndon, Mrs. Daniel Klock, Red Cross; Mrs. Herbert Denig, Augustaville, Mrs. Harry Bucher, Red Cross; Mrs. Sadie Kahler, Rebuck; William Latsha, Red Cross, and Nathan [Mason ?] and Walter Erdman at home. SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Joanne E. Appleby, 82, of Shinglehouse, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a lengthy illness.
Born March 26, 1930 in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Roy M. “Shorty” and Doris H. Presher Klinger. On September 10, 1950 in the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse, she married Robert Appleby, who died on July 24, 1998.
Mrs. Appleby was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School, class of 1948 and a graduate of Bryant and Stratton Business College in Buffalo, NY. She was employed by Montgomery Ward in Olean and then by First National Bank in Shinglehouse. She retired from the Oswayo Valley School District in Shinglehouse where she was employed as business manager. She was later employed as a sales clerk at Southwestern Fountain Company in Mesa, Arizona.
Mrs. Appleby was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse where she served her church in many capacities including starting the junior choir, the Baptist youth fellowship, and serving as a deaconess. She was a former member of Eureka Chapter #52 O.E.S., Shinglehouse. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, and her dog Misty. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She, along with her husband, spent nine winters at their home in Mesa, Arizona.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy A. (Jude) Auman of Portville, NY and Robin J. (Mike) Goode of Shinglehouse; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette M. Mingus of Livonia, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Appleby was predeceased by her parents and her husband.
A private visitation was held for family members. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.

He was employed by Fred Short Wholesale in Wellsville for 22 years and at Short’s Service Station in Andover for ten years.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette (Jan); one daughter, Yvonne Matthews of Orlando, Florida; two step-sons, Mark (Diana) Sherwood of Lakeville, New York and Jeffrey (Sandy) Sherwood of Wellsville; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, at the East Sharon Cemetery in Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania.

Mary Abigail Landau married Ira Charles Klinger, son of Milton C. Klinger and Sarah Ellen Schwalm, on 20 September 1947, Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA. Mary Abigail Landau died on 9 August 1998, at age 88.1 She died on 7 August 1998, Turbotville, PA, at age 88.4
SUNBURY — Mary A. Klinger, of 909 Market St., died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at the home of her grandson.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Floyd Shepperson of Danville; two grandsons, Ira P. "Bud" Renn of Turbotville and Timothy Renn of Sunbury; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, George Howard Whitling, Sept. 1978; one grandson, Michael C. Renn, June 1997; and two brothers.
Visitors may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church by her pastor the Rev. Richard Fangmann.
Burial will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery Mausoleum, Shamokin Dam.
Funeral arrangements were by the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.4

Lee Darwin Schmeltz was born on 26 December 1929, 1504 West Lynn Street, Shamokin, Northumberland County, PA.1 He was the son of Frank Gideon Schmeltz and Sarah Sevilla Klinger. Lee Darwin Schmeltz married Mary Margret Gribbin, daughter of William F. Gribbin and Margaret Ann Clark, on 14 February 1953, St. Edwards Church, Shamokin, Northumberland County, PA.1 Lee Darwin Schmeltz and Mary Margret Gribbin were divorced. Lee served in the US Army infantry in the Far East, including 2 tours of duty in Korea. During one tour, he suffered from frostbite and was hospitalized for 6 months in Japan. Subsequently, Lee was a coal miner for Peca Coal Company in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, PA, and worked as a miner-driller for various construction companies. Later he was a zoo keeper, mostly in the reptile division, at the National Zoological Park, Washington, DC. After he retired in 1974, Lee lived in Las Cruces, NM.2 Lee Darwin Schmeltz married Lavina Walker, daughter of William Clark Walker and Mary Florence Marshall, on 18 November 1995.3 Lee Darwin Schmeltz died on 24 July 2016, Hanover Hospital, Hanover, York County, PA, at age 86.4

H. Preston Clark. 75, a native of Klingerstown, died early this morning at his home in Valley View after an illness of six days. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
A retired farmer, he was the son of the late John Clark and Sophia Romberger Clark. He was a member of the Salem Reformed Church, Klingerstown.
In addition to his wife, Ida Schwalm Clark, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Franklin Masser, Mrs. Elwood Maurer and Calvin Clark, Klingerstown R. D; Edgar Clark, Dornsife R. D; Miss Della Clark, Danville; Mrs. Wellington Stiely, Hegins R. D., and Frederick Clark, Valley View, and 23 grandchildren and four great grand children. Two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Wolfgang, Pitman, and Mrs. Lloyd Herb. Klingerstown R. D-, and two brothers, Gurney Clark, Hegins, and John Clark, Dornsife R. D., also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p. m. from the Lawrence Rothermel funeral home Klingerstown, and will be. continued in the Salem Lutheran and Reformed church, Klingerstown R. D. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Rev. John M. Light, Leck Kill, pastor of the church, will officiate. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday evening.
