     Minnie Edna Wiest was born on 27 January 1896.2 She was the daughter of Nathaniel Andrew Wiest and Emma Vesta Schwalm. Some sources record that Minnie Edna Wiest was born on 22 January 1895. She married Gurney Arthur Starr, son of Oscar Adam Starr and Elizabeth Sophronia Knorr, on 26 June 1915, Hegins, Schuylkill County, PA.3,4 At the time of the 1930 Census for Upper Mahantongo Township, Schuylkill County, the household of Gurney A. Starr, 38, and his wife Minnie E., 34, included the following children: Russel W., 14; Blanche I., 12; Alma M., 10; Earl W., 7; Nevin W., 3 11/12; and Ruby E., 1 7/12. By that time, Gurney and Minnie had been married about 15 years.3 Minnie Edna Wiest died on 13 June 1966, at age 70.2

Mrs. Minnie (Wiest) Starr, 70, sister of Nevin Wiest, widely known Trevorton building contractor, died suddenly last evening at 7:10 in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Starr, Klingerstown, R.D., with whom she lived.
MrMinnie Edna Wiest. Starr, a lifelong resident of the Klingerstown area, was born January 27, 1896, a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Emma (Schwalm) Wiest.
Mrs. Starr was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown R.D. Her husband, jGuerney Starr, died in May, 1962.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John (Blanche) Oxenrider, Herndon; Mrs. Marlin (Alma) Schreffler, Rebuck, and Mrs. Lawrence (Ruby) Schwalm, Elizabethville; three sons, Russel Starr, Klingerstown R.D., with whom she lived; Earl Starr, Lykens R.D., and Nevin Starr, Elizabethville; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Clarence Wiest, Klingerstown R.D., and Nevin Wiest, Trevorton, and five sisters, Mrs. Allen Deibert, Klingerstown; Mrs. Russel Paul, Klingerstown R.D; Mrs. James Miller and Mrs. Guy Bixler, both of Valley View, and Mrs. Henry Snyder, Elizabethville.

     Mazie Jemima Wiest is also referred to as Masie in some sources.1 She was born on 19 May 1900, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, PA.2 She was the daughter of Nathaniel Andrew Wiest and Emma Vesta Schwalm. Mazie Jemima Wiest married James Monroe Miller on 10 August 1918, Leck Kill, Northumberland County, PA.3 Mazie Jemima Wiest died on 16 March 1974, Pottsville Hospital, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 73.1

She was born in Lykens Township May 19, 1900, the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Emma Schwalm Wiest.
Mrs. Miller was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown RD; a member of the LCW of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View; a member of the Senior Citizens of Valley View.
Her husband James M. Miller preceded her in death in Sept., 1971.
She is survived by two children, Darvin E. of Valley View; and Barbara, wife of Richard Bowman, Sanborne, N.Y; two brothers Nevin Wiest of Treverton; Clarence Wiest of Klingerstown RD; four sisters, Mrs. Allen Deibert, Klingerstown; Mrs. Guy Bixler, Valley View; Mrs. Henry Snyder, Elizabethville; Mrs. Russell Paul, Klingerstown RD; five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon from the Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown RD. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown RD. Rev. Elden Ehrhart, her pastor of Klingerstown RD will officiate.

Anna Irene Wiest married Guy Lester Bixler, son of Monroe Bixler and Sarah Annie Bowers.1,3 Anna Irene Wiest died on 27 August 1977, Mechanicsburg Rehabilitation Center, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, PA, at age 65.4

Mrs. Anna Irene Bixler, 65, wife of Guy L. Bixler, Valley View, died Saturday afternoon at Mechanicsburg Rehabilitation Center where she had been taken after being a patient at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Mrs. Bixler was born May 6, 1912 at RD Klingerstown, daughter of the late Nathaniel and Emma Schwalm Weist She had been employed many years at Philmark Manufacturing Co., Valley View. She was a member of St. Andrew's Methodist Church, Valley View, the Missionary Society of the church and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Ronald, Palmyra, and a daughter, Darlene, wife of Dennis Shearer, RD2 Halifax; four grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Nevin Weist, Treverton; Mrs. Katie Deibert, Clarence Weist and Mrs. Russell Paul, all of Klingerstown; Mrs. Henry Snyder, Elizabethville.
Services will be held Tuesday afternoon in St. Andrew's Church with her pastor, the Rev. Leland Keemer officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Arthur R. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, has charge.

     Carrie S. Clark was born on 6 August 1903, Upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, PA.3,4 She was the daughter of Henry Preston Clark and Ida Louisa Schwalm.2 Carrie S. Clark married Frank L. Masser, son of Felix C. Masser and Phoebe Jane Zimmerman.2,4 Carrie S. Clark died in 1980, Upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, PA.3

Carrie (Clark) Masser, 76, Upper Mahanoy Township, RD 1 Klingerstown, died at 3:30 pm Friday at her home. She had been in failing health for a week.
Born in the Dornsife RD area, August 6, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Henry Preston Clark and Ida (Schwalm) Clark.
Mrs. Masser was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Masser, March 2, 1978.
She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ and Sunday School, Leck Kill, and a member of the ladies aide of the church.
She is survived by three sons: Ernest F., of Dornsife RD; Kenneth, of Sherwood, Ohio; and Paul, of RD 1 Lykens. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Elwood Maurer, of RD 1 Klingerstown, Mrs. Wellington Stiely, of RD 1 Hegins and Della Clark, of Dornsife RD; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning from Christ United with the Rev. Eldon Ehrhard, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman, RD.

Ramberger, daughter of Jacob Johnson Ramberger and Clara Celera Williams, on 4 May 1931.5,6 Edgar Alvin Clark died on 22 March 1989, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Montour County, PA, at age 84.3 He was buried at Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.3

DORNSIFE - The funeral for Edgar A. Clark, 84, of Dornsife RD1, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD1, by the Rev. Bruce Dalious, United Church pastor of Klingerstown RD1.
Burial will be Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown RD1. There will be no calling hours this evening, but visitors may call at the funeralhome at 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Mr. Clark died Wednesday evening in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient since March 2.
Born in Dornsife RD1, Oct. 22, 1904, he was a son of the late Henry Preston and Ida (Schwalm) Clark. He was married to the former Bessie M. Lam-berger in 1931.
He was a retired farmer, and was last employed by the Millersburg Tool Manufacturing Co., Millersburg, until his retirement in 1969. He was of Protestant faith, and was a member of the Klingerstown Fire Company.
In additon to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Tamie Maurer of Klingerstown RD1, and Mrs. Verna Stiely of Hegins RD1.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Maurer, son of William Cyrus Maurer and Catherine Knorr.7 Tamie Edna Clark died on 17 October 1993, RD # 1, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 81.4

Verna J. Stiely, 92, of 132 W. Mountain Road, Hegins, died Saturday afternoon at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Darwin and Pat Stiely, 61 Vista Road, Klingerstown, with whom she resided for the past seven years.
Born in RR1 Dornsife, May 18, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Henry Preston and Ida L. Schwalm Clark.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening and canning.
She was educated in Klingerstown area schools.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown.
In addition to her son and daughter-in-law, she is survived by eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wellington L. "Bud" Stiely on Dec. 15, 1994; a daughter, Romaine Piergallini, in 1987; a son, Ronald C. Stiely, in 1997; a great-grandson, Tyler Stiely, in 1999; three sisters, Carrie Masser, Delia Clark and Tamie Maurer; three brothers, Edgar, Calvin and Fred Clark.

     Calvin Alexander Clark was born on 27 January 1908, Rough and Ready, Schuylkill County, PA.2 He was the son of Henry Preston Clark and Ida Louisa Schwalm.1 Calvin Alexander Clark married Mazie C. Schadel, daughter of Francis O. Schadel and Katie Hauck.1 Calvin Alexander Clark died on 9 September 1960, Mahantongo Township, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 52.3,4

Klingerstown RD Resident Expires
Calvin A. Clark, of Klingers town R.D., died at 11:45 last night in his home following an extended illness. Death was due to a complication.
Born in Upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, January 27, 1908, Mr. Clark was a son of Mrs. Ida (Schwalm) Clark, Valley View, and the late H. Preston Clark. He worked as a laborer at a coal company in Hegins until 1946, when he was compelled to give up occupational duties because of ill health.
Mr. Clark was married to the former Mazie Schadel. He was a member of. Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown.
Surviving are the widow, the mother, four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Maurer, Klingerstown; Mrs. Russell Mace, Dornsife R. D; Mrs. Harvey Neumeister, and Mrs. John Kauffman, Millersburg R.D; five sons, Francis, Elizabethville; Willard, Valley View, and James, Roy and Dennis, at home: six grandchildren; two brothers, Fred, Valley View, and Edgar, Dornsife, and four sisters, Mrs. Franklin Masser, Klingerstown R.D; Miss Della Clark, Danville; Mrs. Elwood Maurer, Klingerstown R. D., and Mrs. Wellington Stiely, Hegins R. D.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown R. D. The Rev. J. C. Glessner, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Lawrence Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown R. D. 1, Monday evening and at the church Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until time of services.

     Fred Jay Clark was born on 28 July 1915, Northumberland County, PA.4,2 He was the son of Henry Preston Clark and Ida Louisa Schwalm.3 Some sources record that Fred Jay Clark was born on 22 July 1915, Upper Mahantongo Township, Schuylkill County, PA.5 He married Lucy Alvena Klinger, daughter of William Oscar Klinger and Mabel Pearl Klinger.6 Fred Jay Clark died on 20 February 1969, Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 53.5,1

Fred Jay Clark
Fred Jay Clark, 53, Valley View, husband of Lucy Klinger Clark, died at Good Samaritan Hospital Thursday evening. He was admitted as a medical patient Feb. 17 and had been hospitalized last October.
Born in Upper Mahantongo Twp., July 22. 1915, he was a son of the late H. Preston and Ida Schwalm Clark.
He had been a self- employed Trucker and was a member of Salem Union Church, Kingerstown, RD, the Valley View Fire Co., and Valley View Gun Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Jack, Glendale, Calif; Paul, Los Angeles, Calif; one daughter, Anna, wife Clyde Miller, Hegins; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Masser, Kiingerstown RD; Della Clark, Danville Mrs. Ellwood Maurer, Klingerstown, RD; Mrs. Wellington Steily Hegins, RD1; one brother, Edgar, Hegins, RD1.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon from St. An drew's United Methodist Church Valley View with the Rev. Gordon Oplinger officiating. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge.
