Sarah Emma Unger was born on 24 March 1870, Bear Gap, Northumberland County, PA.2 She was the daughter of Soloman Unger and Lovina Duttinger.1 Sarah Emma Unger married Reuben Schmeltz on 25 October 1890, Northumberland County, PA.3

Elderly Resident Of Coal Township Claimed by Death
Mrs. Emma Hughes, 78, widow of Benjamin O. Hughes, died yesterday afternoon in her home, 1451 West Chestnut Street, following an illness of more than a year.
Mrs. Hughes was a daughter of the late Soloman and Levina (Duttinger) Unger, Bear Gap. She was born in the rural area, March 24, 1870. and she was married to Reuben Schmelts, of Mount Carmel. Following his death she was married to Benjamin O. Hughes, Rush Township. The couple lived at Union Comers until the death of Mr. Hughes, April 17, 1930, when Mrs. Hughes came to Shamokln to live with her children.
Surviving are the following children: Parker Hughes, Mrs. Harriet Levan, Mrs. Grace Heiser, all of Shamokin; Mrs. Bertha Hoy, Brady; Walter Schmeltz, Danville; Frank Schmeltz, Barnesville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Emma Gates, Pontiac, Mich., 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Tietsworth, Mount Carmel.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon in Murray Funeral Home, West Walnut Street, beginning at 2:00. Rev. F. H. Fletcher, pastor of St. John Evangelical United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial win be in Lutheran Cemetery. Elysburg. Viewing will be in the Murray Funeral Home, Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:00, and continuing Monday until time of the funeral service.

Gribbin and Margaret Ann Clark. Mary Margret Gribbin married Lee Darwin Schmeltz, son of Frank Gideon Schmeltz and Sarah Sevilla Klinger, on 14 February 1953, St. Edwards Church, Shamokin, Northumberland County, PA.2 Mary Margret Gribbin and Lee Darwin Schmeltz were divorced. Mary Margret Gribbin died on 30 March 1994, at age 62.3 She was buried at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Prince Gorge's County, MD.3

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help cover final expenses and anything above and beyond will be given to Diabetes Research Center.
