    RICHLAND -- Roy R. Leitzel, 82, of 26 Ketterman Hill Road, formerly of Klingerstown, died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon, where he had been a patient for the past week. He had been in ill health for the past several months.
    He was born Sept. 2; 1916, in Klingerstown, a son of the late M. Richard and Lillian Alice (Romberger) Leitzel. His first wife, the former Eleanor P. Messersmith, died Oct. 6, 1960. His second wife, the former Pearl I. Fessler Reber, died Dec. 9, 1987.
    He was a graduate of Hubley Township High School and attended Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove. He graduated in 1936 from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
    A veteran of World War II, he served as a captain in the Army Air Force.
    He was an auto dealer for 45 years before retiring in 1981. He owned and operated the Leitzel Ford Dealerships in Klingerstown, Newport and Myerstown.
    He was a charter member of Valley Lodge 797, Free and Accepted Masons, Valley View; member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rites Valley of Harrisburg; Newport American Legion Post 177; member and past president of the Myerstown Rotary Club; and member of numerous fire companies throughout the years.
    Mr. Leitzel was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown.
    Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Virginia and Paul Engle of Dalmatia and Elaine Wiest and Carol and Robert Stine, all of Lebanon; one stepson, Gerald Reber of Battle Creek, Mich; one stepdaughter and her husband, Holly and Brian Miller of Robesonia; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul of Gratz; nieces; and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one brother, W. Ford, on March 22, 1996.
    Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church by Vicar Don Costlow of Friedens Lutheran Church.
    Graveside military services conducted by Gratz VFW Post 2385, RR1 Lykens, will be in the church cemetery.
    Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 61 1, Bloomsburg, Pa. 17815, or to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 668, 17 S. 19th St., Camp Hill. Pa. 17011.

    W. Ford Leitzel, 77, of Klingerstown, died Friday evening at his home. He was in failing health for seven weeks.
    Born in Kilngerstown, April 21, 1918, he was a son of the late Richard Letzel and Lillian Romberger LeitzeL He was a graduate of Hubley Township High School and Peirce School of Business, Philadelphia.
    He founded the Lewisburg Farmer's Market and operated it until retiring in 1981. He and a brother, Paul, previously operated Crossroads Sale and Market, Gratz.
    He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown; Klingerstown Fire Company, Herndon Lodge 702, F&AM, Herndon, of which he was a member more than 50 years; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Millersburg; Scottish Rite Consistory, Harrisburg; Shrine Club of Zembo Temple, Harrisburg. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Hilda F. Kessler, to whom he would have been married 56 years .April 13; a daughter, Bonnie A. Miller, Salt Lake City, Utah; a son, Thomas C. Leitzel, Lemont; two brothers, Paul, Gratz, and Roy, Richland; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown. The Rev. Peter Nordby will officiate. Interment will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Klingerstown. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD1 Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

    Hilda Faye Leitzel, 79, formerly of Klingerstown, died Dec. 5 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
    Born at Erdman, Oct. 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Meda Kessler. She had lived at Crosslands Retirement Community in Sandy, Utah, for the past one and a half years and the last two months with her daughter in Salt Lake City.
    She and her husband, W. Ford Leitzel, owned and operated the Lewisburg Farmers Market until they retired in 1981.
    She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown and its choir and Sunshine class. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, Lykens, and the Idella Rebekah Lodge 58, Dornsife, where she served as a past noble grand and was awarded the Decoration of Chivalry Award for community support.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Ford, on March 22, 1996; two brothers, Ralph and Marlin Kessler.
    Surviving are a son, Thomas C., Escondido, Calif., formerly of Lemont; a daughter, Bonnie A. Miller, Salt Lake City, Utah; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren.
    Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Michael's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Joel Petruschke officiating. Idella Rebekah Lodge 58 will hold services at 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Michael's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Klingerstown. Stephen R.     Charles Edwin Kessler, of Erdman, died March 5th, at the age of 49 years.
    He was a son of Charles and Mary (Erdman) Kessler, and was a native of Lykens Township. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman.
    Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Meda Paul Kessler, two sons and one daughter, Marlin, at home; Ralph Kessler and Hilda, Mrs. Ford Leitzel. both of Erdman. Other survivors are two grandchildren, six brothers and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Umholtz, Oscar, Moses, Sinary, Harry, Luther, and Ezra Kessler, all of Erdinan.
    Funeral services were held from the residence Monday morning with further services in Klinger's Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. D. I. Sultzbach, pastor of the Sacramento Lutheran Parish, officiated, and interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

    She was born in Klingerstown on Jan. 31, 1899, and was the daughter of William and Catherine (Wiest) Romberger. Mrs. Deibert was a lifelong resident of Klingerstown.
    She was married Dec. 30, 1915, to Irwin Deibert, who survives her. Mrs. Deibert was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lykens, R.D., and was a member of the Rainbow Class at that church.
    Other survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Helen) Byerly, Lock Haven, R.D., Mrs. Marlin (Mabella) Shade, of Gratz, and Mrs. Clair (Lillian) Erdman, of Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Treas, Klingerstown, and Mrs. Gertrude Shaffer, Millersburg.

    He was a retired design manager for Piper Aircraft Co., Lock Haven, and formerly resided in Lock Haven. When he retired in 1978 he moved to Gratz.
    He was a World War II Army veteran.
    Mr. Byerly was a, member of Simeon's Lutheran Church, Gratz, Herndon Lodge 702, F&AM, and Leesburg High 12 Club.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Deiberl, whom he married on April 7, 1935; a son; Dennis, Brackney area, and Elaine Cole, Tavers, Fla; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Lebo, Trevorton; a brother, Melvin, Vienna, Va.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Simeon's Lutheran Church, Gratz. The Rev. Barry Ridge will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Erdman. There will be no calling hours Wednesday evening. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

    She had been in ill health since February 1991.
    Born Jan. 25, 1918, in Klingerstown, she was a daughter of the late Irwin and Mary (Romberger) Deibert. Her first husband, Darwin Feger, died May 18, 1969.
    She married Harry H. Willier Jr. on Nov. 9, 1974, at Gratz.
    She was a retired shoe factory employee and was worked at the Muskin Shoe Factory, Millersburg. She retired in 1977.
    She was educated in Klingerstown-area schools. She was a member of Simeon Lutheran Church, Gratz.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lila Lapriola of Williamsport and Linda Seip of Gratz; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and two sisters, Helen Byerly of Gratz and Lillian Erdman of Mechanicsburg.
    In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Irwin Deibert Jr., who died in 1937, and a sister, Mabella Shade, in 1992.
    The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Simeon Lutheran Church, Gratz, by the Rev. Barry Ridge. Burial will be in Gratz Union Cemetery.
    Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD1, and from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.

    She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Byerly in 1995, Fae Willier in 1993, and Mabella Shade in 1992; and one brother, Irwin Deibert, Jr. in 1937.
    A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at Salem United Church of Christ Church, Klingerstown, where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating.
    Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown.

    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mazie Engle Erdman; three sons, Emory, of Klingerstown RD; Clair, of Mechanicsburg RD 3 and Darvin of Lykens RD; eight daughters, Mrs. Lamar Reitz and Miss Elaine Erdman, both of KHngerstown RD, Mrs. Earl Kahler and Mrs. Merlin Hoch, both of Dornsife RD, Mrs. Blair Kisinger of Lykens RD; Mrs. Nevin Musick, of Halifax RD 2, Mrs. Clair Koppenhaver of Gratz and Mrs. Dale Wolfgang of Herndon RD 1; and 16 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
    Services were held Saturday at 2 P. M. in Salem United Church of Christ with the Rev. Doyle Luckenbach, his pastor, officiating. Burial was in Salem Church Cemetery.

Romberger Kessler. She was originally from Herndon, Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by her husband John Donald Heckert. She attended and graduated from Central Pennsylvania Business College in 1945. She is survived by her three children, two daughters and one son: Karen E. and Doug Leland of Harpswell Maine, Elaine M. Ritter of Yarmouth, Maine; John D. Heckert, Jr. of Blacksburg, Virginia. She also had two grandchildren: a granddaughter, Heidi Leland of Brunswick, Maine, and a grandson Dennis Long, Jr. of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.     HERNDON -- The funeral for John D. Heckert, 61, Herndon RD, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Zion's Church of Stone Valley by the Rev. S.A. Dries of Sunbury RD3. Burial will be in Stone Valley Cemetery, Dalmatia RD.
    Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight in the Edwin J. Hoover Funeral Home, Dalmatia. There will be no viewing in the church Tuesday.
    Mr. Heckert died Friday evening in his home. He had been in serious ill health for the past nine months.
    Born at Dalmatia RD, he was a son of Mrs. Leah C. Witmer Heckert of Herndon RD and the late John F. Heckert.
    He was married to the former Catherine M. Kessler.
    He served as a fighter pilot in the Air Force with the rank of first lieutenant. He received various citations, including the Purple Heart.
    He was a member of Zion's United Church of Christ Church, Stone Valley, Herndon American Legion and Herndon Fire Company.
    In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, John D. Jr. of Blacksburg, Va; two daughters, Mrs. Karen Leland of South Harpswell, Maine, and Mrs. Elaine Long of Sunbury; two grandchildren; and two brothers, A. Franklin of Herndon RD and Robert M. of Lebanon.
