    FRANCIS HERBERT MAURER
    Francis Herbert Maurer, well-known resident and retired farmer of Hegins Township, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday morning. He had been ill for some time but his death was not expected.
    Born in March, 1882. he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Maurer. He was a member of the Hegins and Valley View Fire Companies and of the American Legion Post, Valley View.
    Surviving he leaves his wife, Mrs. Ida Ochs Maurer, and these children: Clarence, Hegins Township; Mrs. E. L. Deibert and Mrs. John Romberger, Valley View. Nine grandchildren also survive, and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Wedde, Hegins, R.D; seven brothers: Monroe, Henry and George, of Pitman; Peter, Hegins, R.D; William, Klingerstowb; Charles and John, Ashland, R.D.
    Funeral on Thursday afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Deibert, Valley View. Services will be conducted in the Church of God, Hegins, byt Rev. James E. Meyers, and burial will be in the Church of God Cemetery. A.R. Buffington is in charge.

    MRS. FRANCIS H. MAURER
    Mrs. Ida G. Maurer, 8, widow of Francis H. Maurer, Hegins R. D. 2, died at her home Friday from a heart ailment.
    Born July 9, 1885 in Eldred she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ochs. She was a member of Church of God, Pitman.
    Her husband died four years ago.
    She is survived by one son Clarence, Hegins R.D., with whom she lived; two daughters. Mrs. Neil Deibert and Mrs. John Romberger, both of Valley View and nine grandchildren.
    Funeral Ida Gottschall Ochsill be Tuesday afternoon from the home of her daughter-in-law and son, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Maurer. Further services will be held in the Church of God with burial in the Church of God Cemetery. A. R. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, has charge.
