Jack E. Shade, Sr., 73, of East Market Street, Gratz, PA, died Friday, December 27, 2002, at Elk Road Run, Gaines Twp., Tioga, PA, due to a snowmobile accident.
He was the husband of Janice (Kissinger) Shade. Born September 7, 1929 in Hegins, PA to the late Marlin R. and Emma (Huntsinger) Shade, Sr.
He retired from the Naval Depot, Mechanicsburg, PA. He was a member of the Simeon United Lutheran Church,
Gratz. He was a US Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Gratz Lykens Twp. VFW; American Legion Post 326, Millersburg; life member of the Gratz Fire Co., Erdman Sportsman's Club and Black Forest Snowmobile Club of Lycomimg Co.
Surviving are his wife, Janice (Kissinger) Shade; three sons, Jack E. Shade, Jr., Rodney L. Shade, Greg S. Shade, all of Gratz; three brothers, Allen Shade, Myerstown, Marlin Shade, Jr., Elizabethville, Robert Huntsinger, Hegins and six grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday at 11 a.m. until time for service, at the church.
Religious service will be on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz, PA with Rev. Barry Ridge, officiating.
Burial will be in Gratz Union Cemetery, Gratz, PA.
