Ella Mae was very proud of being an Upper Moreland Twp. Crossing Guard and Police Dispatcher. She also was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime resident of Fulmor Heights. Ella Mae was loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Ella Mae is survived by her four children, Debra Nickels (Chris), Wendy Morgan (Jim), William R., Jr. Suzanne), and Richard G. (Joanne). William Russel Schwalm, 66, of South Gibson, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, at home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, the former Suzanne Harting.
Born April 21, 1955, in Abington, Pa., he was the son of the late William Russel and Ella Mae Strohecker Schwalm. Russ graduated from Upper Moreland High School. He started his career as a train engineer at 19, and worked for various railroads for 39 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. When he moved upstate, he enjoyed farming and woodworking. His sidekick for the last several years is Steve Ehrets, who without him, couldn't have maintained the farm. Russ was one of a kind. It was once said that Russ would give you the shirt off his back, but tell you how to wear it. He touched many people with his wisdom. He will be greatly missed by his friends and cousin, Ken Herb.
He is survived by his siblings, Deb (Chris) Nickels, Wendy (Jim) Morgan and Richard (Joanne) Schwalm; his children, John and Suzie Creps; five grandchildren, Autumn Campbell, Jayden Creps, Anna Creps, David Creps-Phillips and Brooklyn Creps. He took special pleasure in Anna and David as he was helping to raise them in his home.
A celebration of Russ's life will be held on Saturday, July 17, at the farm in South Gibson.

Betty Jane Heller was born on 5 February 1934, Klingerstown RD, Schuylkill County, PA.2,3,4 She was the daughter of Stanley E. Heller and Mazie Etta Feger.2 Betty Jane Heller married Bruce David Schwalm, son of William Harvey Schwalm and Meda Mae Schwalm, circa 1955.1,5 Betty Jane Heller died on 29 September 1964, Osteopathic Hospital, Lancaster, Lancaster County, PA, at age 30.2

Mrs. Betty Jane Schwalm, 30, wife of Bruce D. Schwalm, 342 Sun Valley drive, Leola, died Tuesday at 8:10 a.m. in the Lancaster Osteopathic hospital after an illness of one week.
Born in Klingerstown RD, Schuylkill county, a daughter of Mrs. Mazie Heller Hopple. Gratz, and the late Stanley Heller, she was a member of Simion's Lutheran and Reformed church, Gratz, Pa. She graduated from the Central Penn Business college, Harrisburg.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two children, Vincent and Steven, both at home; a brother, Colin Hopple, and a sister, Arabelle Hopple, both of Gratz, and a grandmother, Mrs. Jane Fager, Valley View.
Funeral servers will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the residence of Mrs. Mazie Hopple, Gratz, Dauphin county, witn the Rev. Wayne Artz, Elizabethtown, officiating. Interment will be in Klinger's church cemetery, at Erdman.
