    NORTHUMBERLAND — Carmen D. Smith, 56, of Ridgeview Lane, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, from injuries suffered in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Rout e 405 i n Clinton Township, Lycoming County.
    He was born Oct. 28 1950, in Pottsville, a son of Ruby N. (Mattern) Smith of Shamokin Dam and the late Holden S. Smith. On April 22, 1972, he married Amye L. (Harris) Smith, who survives.
    Carmen was a 1969 graduate of Line Mountain High School.
    He later served with the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
    Carmen was a member of Teamsters Local Union 776 for 32 years and was a driver/ jockey for ABF Freight System Inc. of Carlisle for 25 years, where he was known as “Duckfoot.”
    Mr. Smith was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ridge Road, Northumberland.
    He enjoyed spending time outdoors riding motorcycle and camping at his site in Hidden Valley Camping Resort, Mifflinburg. He was a member of the Lower Northumberland Gun Club, where he enjoyed shooting skeet.
    In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kirk J. and Amy J. Smith of Northumberland; one daughter and son-in-law, Melonie A. and David H. Bushaw Jr. of Wat sontown; four grandchildren, Holden, Austin, Amber and Lincoln; one brother and sister-in-law, Terry L. and Audrey N. Smith of Herndon; mother- in-law, Anna Stettler, a guest at Nottingham Village, Nor- thumberland; father-in-law, Lee Harris of Sacremento, Pa; several special nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from his wife’s side of the family.
    Friends and family may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the funeral will follow at 11 with his pastor, the Rev. D. Elinor Allison, of- ficiating.
    Burial with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 44, Northumberland, will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
    Contributions in Carmen’s memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1097 Ridge Road, Northumberland, PA 17857.

    DORNSIFE - Mrs. Shirley M. Hornberger, 51, Dornsife RD1, died at 10:10 p.m. Sunday in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
    Death was the result of injuries sustained in an accident Christmas night.
    Born in Dornsife June 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Katie Kieffer Tschopp Adams. Her first husband, Harry Smith Sr., died in 1966. In 1972, she married Francis Hornberger, who survives.
    A resident of the Dornsife area all her life, she was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross, and its Ladies Aid Society; Cedar Aid, Forest 65, Sunbury; Trevorton Legion Post 92 Auxiliary; and the Independence Fire Company Auxiliary of Shamokin.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gary Wolfe of Dalmatia RD1 and Mrs. Leroy Eisenhower of Herndon RD1; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Paul Moody of West Cameron Township; and one brother, Russell Tschopp of Shamokin RD1.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Robert Foust Funeral Home, Trevorton, by the Rev. Glen B. Keidel Jr. of Red Cross. Burial will be in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery, Red Cross.
    The family will receive friends and relatives in the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
    The family requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.

    LIVERPOOL - Leroy E. Eisenhower, 71, of 302 N. Pine St. died Tuesday, April 20, 1993, at his home. He had been ill for two years and hospitalized during that time at Sunbury Community Hospital and Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
    Born March 25, 1922, in Sunbury, he was a son of the late Howard and Mary Fisher Eisenhower.
    He lived in Liverpool for the past year and previously lived in Elizabethville.
    He was a draftsman and tool designer and at one time worked for Boeing Aircraft.
    Mr. Eisenhower was educated in the Sunbury schools and Williamsport Area Community College.
    He was of the Protestant faith.
    He is survived by a son, Leroy C. of Dornsife. RD1; two grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas of Northumberland and Clyde of York; and three sisters, Arlene Winegardner of Sunbury, Myrtle Heckman of Florida and Mary McLaren of California.
    At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated.
    Arrangements were made by the Robert Foust Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
