Katie Adams
TREVORTON - Mrs. Katie E. Adams, 76, of 1034 W. Market St. was stricken ill in her home and was taken to Sunbury Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Adams had been in ill health since December during her to illness had been hospitalized at the Sunbury hospital, several times.
She lived in Trevorton since 1972 and previously lived in Shamokin and the Catawissa RD2 area. She was educated in the Leck Kill schools.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Trevorton, and the Shamokin Senior Citizens.
Born Leck Kill, July 17, 1898, she was a daughter of the late Andrew M. and Sarah Keiffer. She was first Engle married to William Tschopp who died in 1938. She later married Ira, Ray Adams who died in 1968.
Surviving are one son, Russell Tschopp of Hunters Station: two daughters, Mrs. Paul Moody of West Cameron Township and Mrs. Francis of Dornsife RD1; Hornberger eight grandchildren: fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister., Mrs. Mabel Ochenrider of Millersburg.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Robert Foust Funeral Trevorton home. The Rev. Milton F. A. Arndt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Numidia.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
