Nevin L. Wolfe, 58, Of Herndon, Area Contractor
Nevin L. Wolfe, 58, of Herndon, a building contractor in the Herndon area for the past 23 years, died Monday at his home.
Mr. Wolfe had been under treatment for a heart condition for about four years, and was hospitalized several times at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born April 27, 1911, at Mandata, son of Mae Schlegel Wolfe and the late Harvey E. Wolfe. He was married to the former Dorothy J. Bohner, who servives.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Urban; the Pioneer Club of Herndon, of which he was secretary, and the Herndon Fire Company.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Marlene, wife of Jay Winkelman, of Sinking Springs, and Carolyn, wife of Carl Santoro, of Norristown; two sons, Reynold L., of Herndon RD, and Gary L., at home; grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Harold Hoover, of Berrysburg.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harder, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be made church cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday evening at the Joseph Rothermel funeral home, Herndon.
Friends so desiring, in lieu of flowers, may make a contribution to the Nevin L. Wolfe Memorial Fund at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Urban.
Pallbearers will be men employed by Mr. Wolfe, including Dorie Snyder, Donald Latsha, Lee Hoffman, Ellis Clair Willard and Robert Reed.

Edwin Wolfe, 43, former resident of Urban, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wolfe, Herndon R. D., died yesterday in his home in Temple, near Reading. Death was due to a coronary occlusion.
Wolfe was employed as a truck driver for a general hauling contractor in the Reading area.
Surviving are the widow, the former Martha Manbeck; one stepson, Donald, Pottstown; the parents, two brothers, Nevin Wolfe, Herndon, and Lawrence Wolfe, Herndon R. D., and one sister, Mrs. Gladys Hoover, Lykens R. D.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in St. Paul's Lutheran and Reformed Church, Urban. Rev. Jacob Singer, Herdon, will officiate. The body will lie in state in the Urban church from noon Saturday until time of the services.

Lawrence Wolfe, Mandata Native, Fatally Stricken
Lawrence D. Wolfe, 44, lifelong resident of the Jordan Township area died suddenly at his home in Mandata at 5:30 a.m. today, apparently of a heart attack. He had not previously been ill but upon the onset of the attack believed to be indigestion a physician had been summoned to his home, where he expired shortly afterward,
Mr. Wolfe was a welder by trade and had been employed as a truck driver for Meckley's Limestone Quarry at Mandata for several years. He was a veteran of 1½ years of service World War II, was a member of the Jordan Township School Board, and had been for 15 years a member of the council of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Urban. He was affiliated with Alvin Long, American Legion Post 504, Dalmatia, and with Herndon Lodge, 702, Free and Accepted Masons.
He was born August 30, 1919, son of the late Harvey Wolfe and May Schlegel Wolfe, Herndon R. D. who survives in addition to his wife, nee Florence Bingaman, and three children: Dale, at home: Jean, Mrs. Robert Hepner, Herndon R.D., and Carol, Mrs. Charles Shaffer Jr., of Pitman. Three grandchildren also survive as well as one brother, Nevin Wolfe, Herndon, and one sister, Gladys, Mrs. Harold Hoover, Berrysburg.
Funeral services to be in charge of Rothermels of Herndon will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran and Reformed Church, Urban, with the Lutheran pastor, Rev. Paul Billow, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The Herndon Masonic lodge will hold services at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rothermel funeral. home, Herndon, where friends may call Thursday evening.

Florence Alverda Wolfe Weaver, 97, a resident of the Manor at Susquehanna Village passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at the Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
She was born May 2, 1919, in Dornsife, a daughter of the late Cora Della (Derr) and Abraham Bingaman. She was preceded in death by her first husband, of 25 years, Lawrence Dean Wolfe who died Oct. 22, 1963. She married Richard S. Weaver in December of 1971 and he passed away in November of 1980.
Florence was employed as a waitress, and also a factory worker working as a seamstress.
She was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C Church for 72 years where she was the president of the Ladies Aide group for many years. She was a past member of both the Idella Rebekah Lodge 58 of Dornsife and the Eastern Star and was also a member of the Elizabethville Senior Center.
Florence loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed shopping and going on bus trips.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Jean Hepner and husband, Robert Sr., of Curtin, and Carol Schaffer, of Klingerstown; one son, Dale Wolfe, and wife, Bonnie, of Urban; eight grandchildren, Rose Tapper, Carla Hoffman, Robert Hepner, Jr., Edwin Hepner, Melissa Zilinski, Jeffery Schaffer, Richard Schaffer, and Kristen Williams; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by eight siblings, Edna Reeder, Mary Lenker, Amelia Binga- man, Martha Rebuck, Stanley Bingaman, Willaim Bingaman, Paul Bingaman and Earl Herb; one grandson, Matthew Scott Wolfe; and two great-grandchildren, Della Rose Tapper and Gabriel Matthew Williams.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's U.C.C. Church, Urban, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Danial Shahan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Florence's memory may be made to St. Paul's U.C.C. Memorial Fund, Urban Road, Herndon, PA 17830.
The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hoover was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban; Ladies Aid of the church; ACW of A; and Berrysburg Community Club.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gloria Shomper of Elizabethville RD, Mrs. Julie Nell of Dalmatia RD and Mrs. Janis Jeffrey of Galatin, Tenn; three sons, Richard and David, both of Woodland Hills, Calif., and James of Berrysburg; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban, by the Rev. George P. Heberling. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call in the Hoover Funeral Home, Elizabethville, Monday after 7 p.m.

Mrs. Nora S. Rebuck, 59, wife of Morris J. Rebuck, Herndon hardware merchant, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sunbury Community Tuesday Hospital. She had been a patient there for 24 daÿs following an accident sustained in an area restaurant where she slipped and fell, with resultant serious injuries.
Daughter of Henry A. and Emma Wolfe Dubendorf, Mrs. Rebuck was a lifelong resident of the Herndon area a and assisted her husband in their hardware store. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Herndon, and of the Women's Guild of that church, as well as secretary and treasurer of Class 10 of the Sunday School. She was a member of the Herndon chapter, Daughters of America.
She is survived by her husband, and two sons and two daughters as follows: Truman and Thomas and Mrs. Marlin Bobb, Herndon, and Mrs. John Reed, Niagara Falls, Ontario. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. E. Baum, Herndon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Zion United Church of Christ, with Rev. J. M. Singer, Reformed pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Franz A. Lundahl, Lutheran pastor, both of Herndon. Burial will be in Herndon Cemetery.
Friends may visit the Rothermel funeral home Herndon, for viewing on Friday evening and at the church on Saturday from; 12 noon to time of the service.

HERNDON -- Melvin S. Wolfe, 85, of Herndon RD 1, died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday at Sunbury Community Hospital where he had been a patient for one week.
Born in Lower Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, on Dec. 15, 1909, he was the son of the late William Oscar Wolfe and Beulah (Brosious) Wolfe.
Mr. Wolfe had been a farmer and was employed as a purchasing agent at Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary for many years. He was last employed by the Butter Krust Baking Company in Sunbury, prior to retiring in 1974.
Mr. Wolfe was a graduate of Herndon High School and the Thompson Business School in Harrisburg where he majored in accounting.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna W. (Treon) Wolfe, who died Sept. 30, 1992.
Among his local survivors is a daughter, Rebecca Frey of Danville.
Funeral services were held today from St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Herndon RD 1, with the Rev. George Heberling of officiating.
Burial is in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Church Memorial Fund, RD 1, Herndon, Pa. 17830.

Mrs. Mary F. Baum, 75, Herndon, wife of D. E. Baum of that place, died at 3:40 a.m. today in Community Hospital, Sunbury, where she had been a patient since March 22. She had suffered a. heart condition for a number of years and was more seriously ill for the past three months. She had been in the hospital for tests and treatment.
She was born in Jordan Township June 3, 1886, the daughter of Henry and Emma Dubendorf Wolfe. She was united in marriage November 2, 1907, with D. Edward Baum, Herndon hardware merchant, now retired. She was a member of the Herndon chapter, Daughters of America, and Zion United Church of Christ, Herndon.
Surviving are her husband and three daughters: Mrs. Florence E. Price, Harrisburg; Mrs. Julia E. Burrell and Mrs. Olive Grimm, Herndon. A son, Charles Baum, of Sunbury, died December 31, 1957. Seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and an aunt, Miss Rebecca Wolfe, 96, of the Kepler Home, Elizabethville, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Zion Lutheran and United Church of Christ. Church, Herndon. Burial will be made in Herndon Cemetery, Rev. J. M. Singer, her pastor, will officiate.
