    Larry Paul Koppenhaver
    December 24, 1941 - June 13, 2024
Larry Paul Koppenhaver, 82, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully passed away on June 13th at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg.
Larry's life was a testament to his profound faith in God and his unwavering love for his family. His heart also belonged to Philadelphia Phillies baseball and Eagles football. He was an avid fan who rarely missed a game, often watching while simultaneously listening to radio broadcasts, delighting in the dual commentary.
During his childhood, Larry worked on his grandparents' farm where he developed a strong work ethic early in life, tending crops, assisting with harvests, and caring for livestock. He later channeled this dedication into his career as an auto body technician, skillfully restoring vehicles to their former glory. In retirement, he took pride in his role as a greeter at the Elizabethville Walmart, where he earned the affectionate title of "mayor" from his family due to the countless friendships he forged.
Larry's commitment to his community was evident through his service as president of both the Klingerstown and Fisherville volunteer fire companies. He played a key role in organizing fundraising events, particularly summer carnivals and festivals, called bingo and even used his skills to repair and paint fire engines, including an antique one, for the fire companies. He enjoyed hunting, especially with his brothers and sons-in-law. As a nature lover, he was a proud member of Rippling Waters Camp in Sullivan County, where his family spent many fun-filled days.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara, of Harrisburg, Pa; his daughter, Kelly S. Kuntz (Scott) of New Cumberland, Pa; his grandson, Zane Romberger of Elkton, Md; his brother, Harold of Hickory Corners, Pa; his sisters, Marilee of Fairfield, Pa., and Carolee of Dover, De; as well as a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Romberger; his grandson, Jesse Romberger; his parents, Paul and Mary Koppenhaver; his brother, Dean Koppenhaver; and his son-in-law, David Romberger.
A viewing will be held on June 22, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Luke's Church, Malta. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, also from the Church. Interment will take place in the Saint Luke's Cemetery, Malta.
Larry's legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Memorial contributions can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 Church Street, Halifax, PA 17032 or the Fisherville Volunteer Fire Department, 16 Church Street, Halifax, PA 17032.2
