    HERNDON -- Emma Dorthea Bobb, 83, of Herndon, entered into rest on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
    She was born May 11, 1925, in Herndon, a daughter of the late Morris John and Nora Susanna (Wolfe) Rebuck. On Aug. 30, 1947, she married Marlin Oscar Bobb who preceded her in death.
    She was a 1943 graduate of Herndon High School.
    During her life, she was employed at the Pillow Manufacturing Company as a seamstress. Later, she and her husband owned and operated Bailey's Breeze-in in Mandata. Emma and her husband also operated her father's business, Morris J. Rebuck Plumbing and Heating, and later owned and operated Marlin O. Bobb Plumbing, Heating, and Hardware Store in Herndon for many years. Until her death, she was a clerk in her son's business, Bobb's Plumbing and Heating and Hardware store.
    Emma was a member of Herndon Zion Church, where she was active in the choir and church council for several years. She was also a member of the Herndon Senior Action Center where she enjoyed playing bingo and quilting.
    Emma was an avid quilter, having made numerous handmade quilts throughout her life that she shared with family and friends. She also enjoyed photography, especially taking photographs of nature scenes and local places of interests. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
    She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca M. Heath, of Herndon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael O. and Helen Bobb, of Milton, and Andrew P. and Debbie Bobb, of Herndon; one brother, Thomas J. and Emma Jane Rebuck, of Norristown; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Truman Rebuck, one sister, Crystal Reed, and one great-granddaughter, Allison Guinter.
    A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, with the Rev. Richard Sweppenhiser officiating. A private burial will be in the Herndon Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

    HERNDON -- Marlin "Bailey" Oscar Bobb, 76, of Herndon died Friday morning, Aug. 9, 2002, at his home. He had been in ill health for several months.
    He was born June 3, 1926, in Allentown, a son of William C. and Tamie E. (Bohner) Bobb. He is survived by his wife, Emma D. Rebuck, who he married on Aug 30, 1947.
    He was a 1943. graduate of Herndon High School.
    Mr. Bobb served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Boxer as a signalman during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
    He then graduated from Susquehanna University with a bachelor's degree in business management.
    He owned and operated Bailey's Breeze-In, which was on the site of the present Hut Restaurant near Herndon.
    Among his numerous occupa: tions throughout his career were ant employee with Rich Oil Company and rural route carrier for the United States Postal Service. The majority of his career was spent as owner and operator of Marlin O. Bobb Plumbing, Heating and Hardware Store with his wife, Emma from 1963 to 1987.
    He also served as life member and secretary of Herndon Fire Company, a member of Mahanoy Joint an Line Mountain School Board; and mayor of the borough of Herndon.
    When he retired in 1987, he enjoyed spending his time as a genealogist and local historian, specifically researching the origin of the Bobb family's predecessor Johann Nicholas Bobb.
    He was. also an avid pigeon racer, earning numerous certificates and trophies for his achievements.
    Surviving are three children, Michael and Helen Bobb of Milton, Andrew and Debbie Bobb of Herndon and Rebecca Heath of Herndon; four brothers, Bruce Bobb of Herndon, Ned Bobb of Allentown, Dean Bobb of Herndon and William Bobb of Reading; eight grandchildren, Emily Randall of Herndon, Lori Troutman of Dornsife, Betsey Reiner of Dover, Michael Bobb of Hyndman, Matthew Bobb Miffinburg, Walter Heath Ill of Herndon, Benjamin Herndon and Sarah Heath of Herndon; and five great-grandchildren, Katrin Guinter Mifflinburg, Allison Guinter of Pillow, Evan Bobb of Miffinburg, Nathan Troutman of Dornsife, and Hannah Randall of Herndon.
    He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Snyder, Jennie Steekel and Kathryn Snyder.
    Memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, Burial will be in the Herndon Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

    MILTON - Michael O. Bobb, 61, of Milton, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Kramm Health Care, Milton, where he lived since May 2008.
    He was born April 17, Commu1948, in Sun- Michael bury, a son of Marlin O. Bobb and Emma D. (Rebuck) Bobb, of Herndon. On June 14, 1969, he married the former Helen M. Burns, who survives. They celebrated 40 years of marriage.
    Michael was a 1966 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School, now Line Mountain, and a 1969 graduate of Williamsport Area Community College with an associate degree in graphic arts. He was a member of Gamma Epsilon Tau Fraternity while attending college.
    He was employed by the Brodart Co., Williamsport, and then Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg, as a printer, retiring in 1990 after 17 years of service.
    He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and the National Railway Historical Society since 1975. Michael had a love of trains since he was 4.
    Michael loved spending time with his friends and his sons, traveling together to various places throughout the Northeast and the Midwest to capture on film various railroads and excursion trains. He also had a love of history and would do research on local railroads and other history- related items. He enjoyed photography and videography and many family events and activities over the years.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael J. and wife Barbara Bobb, of Cumberland, Md., and Matthew J. Bobb and his companion, Hannah Mitch, of Mifflinburg; three grandchildren, Alan, Evan and Katrin; one brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Debra Bobb, and one sister, Rebecca Heath, all of Herndon; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Allison Guinter, in 2008.
    Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Dale Hippensteel officiating.
    Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.

    WINFIELD - Helen M. (Burns) Bobb, 71, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at the home of her son with her family by her side.
    She was born on May 3, 1949 in Sunbury and was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Louise W. (Dietz) Burns
    On June 14, 1969 Helen married the late Michael O. Bobb and they celebrated 40 years of marriage together until his death on January 17, 2010.
    She was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1968. After school she went on to work for Chef Boyardee, Milton and retired in 2004.
    She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton and the Milton Moose. Helen loved her flowers and watching Penn State football but she also enjoyed Christmas time and Spring time when all the flowers started blooming. Most of all Helen dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
    Helen is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Michael J. and Barbara Bobb of Cumberland, MD and Matthew J. and Tracy Bobb of Winfield, seven grandchildren; Alan Bobb, Evan Bobb, Katrin Guinter, Derek Irvan and his wife Katie, Brandon Hendricks, Justyn Hendricks and Elizabeth Bobb, four great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law; Scott and Pamela Burns of Cedar City, UT and one sister; Bonnie Minderhout of Bloomsburg.
    In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Allison Guinter, three brothers; Bob Sanders, Gary and Jimmy Burns and one sister; Nancy Raker.
    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, E. Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.

    Thomas Henry Rebuck, 90, of Lafayette Hill, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia. He was the beloved husband of his high school sweetheart E. Jane (Gessner) Rebuck to whom he was married for over 67 years.
    Born November 23, 1928, in Herndon, PA, he was a son of the late Morris J. and Nora S. (Wolfe) Rebuck. He was a graduate of Herndon High School class of 1946.
    After graduating he joined the Navy and became a radioman on the destroyer, the USS Williard Keith 775. Navy men serving on destroyers were nicknamed the Tin Can Sailors. After the Navy, he graduated from the Williamsport Technical Institute. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, and gardening, but most of all his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He joined the Herndon Masonic Lodge #702 F&A.M. in 1953 and was also a 32nd-degree Mason with the Williamsport Consistory. He was active in church work, past superintendent of Sunday School in Herndon U.C.C., (United Church of Christ), also Deacon, Trustee and Sunday School teacher in Christ Church U.C.C. in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
    In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Durrell Thomas Rebuck and his wife, Marian Wells Rebuck, Holly Jayne Lenker and her husband, Dwayne Lenker; his four grandchildren: Andrew Rebuck, Kathryn Rebuck, Rebecca Nugent and Corey Woodman (fiancé Jillian McGlynn); five great-grandchildren: Edward Nugent, Delilah Nugent, Cason Hatcher, Mackenzie Woodman and Mattie Thomas; his sister-in-law Iris Rebuck Mellott and many nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by his sisters Crystal Reed, Emma Bobb, and his brother Truman Rebuck.

    Born May 21, 1929, in Rebuck, PA she was a daughter of the late John F. and Dorothy (McCall) Gessner. She was a graduate of Herndon High School class of 1946, and Mansfield University in 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. She furthered her education earning her Master’s Degree in Education from Temple University.
    She taught in the Line Mountain School District in Herndon, PA the Holland School in Norristown, PA and many years in the Methacton School District. Mrs. Rebuck loved her family. She also loved to travel. She traveled to all 50 states most of the Canadian Provinces river and ocean cruises, and six foreign countries.
    Mrs. Rebuck was past Worthy High Priestess of Messiah Shrine #14, Sunbury that now belongs to the Temple Shrine #22 in Norristown. She was also past Worthy Matron of Radiant Chapter #96 now Pricilla Chapter #64.
    She is survived by her daughter, Holly MacGregor and her husband, William, of Essington, PA; her daughter-in-law, Marian Rebuck; her grandchildren, Andrew Rebuck, Kathryn Williams, Rebecca Nugent and Corey Woodman; and six great grandchildren, Edward, Delilah, Cason, Mackenzie, Mattie, and Noah.
    In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Durrell Rebuck.

    REEDSVILLE - Truman J. Rebuck, 48 of Church Hill Manor, a field serviceman of refrigeration for Weis Markets, died at 1:38 a.m. Tuesday in Hershey Medical Center.
    Mr. Rebuck worked for Weis Markets for 14 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
    He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Church Hill; Herndon Lodge 702 F&AM; and an honorary member of the Herndon Fire Company.
    Born Dec. 6, 1926 in Northumberland County, he was a son of Morris J. Rebuck of of Pillow and the late Flora [Nora]R. Wolfe Rebuck.
    Survivors are his widow, the former Iris G. Strohecker, and the following children, Paul T. Rebuck of New Jersey, Mrs. Ravmond Shirk of Lebanon and Zachary L. Rebuck, at home two sisters. Mrs. Crystal Reed of Sunburv and Mrs. Emma Bobb of Herndon; a brother, Thomas H. Rebuck of Nor ristown; and two grandchildren.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Church of Christ, Herndon. with the Rev. James A Yoder and. the Rev. Thomas M. Arner, officiating.
    Burial will be in Herndon Cemetery.

    Leola Girl, 17, Killed In Crash
    A Leola teen-ager was killed Sunday night in a one-car accident in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County.
    Heather Lynn Shirk, 17, of 2 Mayfield Drive, Box 188, Leola, was driving westbound on Fulling Mill Road, near Messick Drive, when she lost control of her car shortly before 9 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Lower Swatara Township police said.
    Miss Shirk, who was alone in the car, was thrown from the vehicle as it went off the highway into a cornfield and rolled over.
    She was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:22 p.m. by Deputy County Coroner Lee Rung. Officer Steven Dombach is continuing the investigation.
    Police said they do not know why Miss Shirk lost control of the car, adding that the location where the accident happened is not at a curve in the road. A family spokeswoman said Miss Shirk had been visiting her mother in Middletown for the weekend and was on her way home.
    Miss Shirk would have been a senior this fall at Conestoga Valley High School. She was a part-time summer employee of Carter's Outlet Store.
    She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ-Hellers.
    Born in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Raymond E. Shirk, with whom she resided, and Patricia I. Rebuck Bosnjak, Middletown. She was the stepdaughter of Audrey Shirk, at home.
    Surviving besides her parents and d stepmother are two brothers, Eric and Ben, at home; two stepbrothers, Mark DiGiamberdini and Scott DiGiamberdini, at home: paternal grandparents, Lewis and Betty Wisehaupt Shirk, Mifflintown; maternal grandparents, Carson and Iris Strohecker Mellott, Lancaster; a paternal great-grandmother, Lenna Wisehaupt, Lemoyne; and maternal Mabel Strohecker, great Herndon.
