This word was received by parents. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Schwalm of Phila., who had previously been informed that he was missing in action since Dec. 16 when he became a prisoner. His grandmother, Mrs. Riley Schwalm, resides at the home of her son, in Pottsville, but was formerly of Donaldson.
    Cpl. Schwalm entered the service in March, 1943 and was sent overseas last October. He was a member of the 411th Infantry, 106th Division.

    Robert M. Nagle, PhD, 86, of Exeter Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family July 27, 2023 in the Reading Hospital where he was a patient.
    Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Leroy F. and Mildred (Wert) Nagle. He was the loving husband of Carol E. (Schwalm) Nagle. They would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on August 25th.
    Bob was a 1955 graduate of Reading High School, where he played various sports and was involved in many of their musical programs. He received his BS degree in Psychology from Albright College in 1960 and Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University in 1967.
    Upon his return to Pennsylvania, he started the Young Adult Unit, an in-patient program for adolescents, at Wernersville State Hospital. In 1977 he founded Advances of Berks County, a day treatment center for adolescents in Reading. He moved to Lima, Ohio in 1994 where he served as the Director of Family Resource Center, a five-county mental health agency for adolescents. He returned to Reading in 2000 and worked at Berks Counseling Associates in Wyomissing until his retirement in 2017.
    Bob served as President of Kiwanis Club of Lima, OH and was a member of APA (American Psychological Assn.), PPA (Pennsylvania Psychological Assn.) and Immanuel UCC, where he served on consistory. He loved various sports, including biking and skiing, and traveling throughout the world and to the theatre in NYC.
    Surviving in addition to his wife Carol are his daughters – Deborah Nagle, PhD, Watertown, MA, Kimberly Nagle Seidel, Sinking Spring, his grandchildren – Katrina Seidel, PharmD, Levittown, and William Seidel, Philadelphia, several cousins and a niece. Along with his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Lantz.
    The Nagle family would like to thank the staff of Rehab-1, Peace of Mind, and the nurses at Tower Health, T1, for their excellent care given to Bob.
    A Celebration of Bob’s Life will he held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Rev. He was a lifelong resident of Hegins Twp. and was born September 14, 1887, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Reed. He was aged 56 years, 6 months and 25 days. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Estella (nee Yoder) Reed and two sons, Palmer who operates a garage and service station in Valley View and Chester, tax collector for Hegins Twp. Also four grandsons, Palmer Jr., Frederic, Bruce and Donald. Private funerals services will be held at the A R Buffington Funeral Home in Valley View on Friday afternoon.
