    Born in Northumberland County, Nov. 2, 1937, he was a son of the late Harold and Edith Morgan Sallada.
    He attended Northern Lebanon High School.
    David was employed as a salesman. He was a member of American Legion, Tremont, and the Newtown Fire Company.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Etzweiler Sallada.
    Surviving are a daughter, Lori Carl, Tremont; two stepsons, Ernest Spittler and Jeffrey Spittler, both of Pine Grove; two stepdaughters, Catherine Bert, Honduras, and Virginia Troutman, Pine Grove; a sister, Nancylee and her husband, Emerson Cain, Jonestown; a brother, Dean and his wife, Joan Sallada, Bellgrove; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16 at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. Interment followed in Most Blessed Trinity Cemetery, Tremont. There was a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

    David Oscar Morgan, 79, Valley View, a former miner, died Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at his home. He was ill since January.
    A son of the late Isaac and Elizabeth Bixler Morgan, he was born in Hegins Twp.
    He was a member of Evangel ical United Brethren Church and Sunday School.
    His wife died 23 ago. He is survived by the following children Mrs. Elmer Scheib, Ira, Roy, Mrs. Lawrence Schade, Mrs. Clair Herman, Mrs. Harvey Kroh, all of Valley View; Mrs. William Harner, Mrs. Leon Spickeor; both of Hegins, Mrs. Albert Bixler, anu Homer of Hegins R. D; Mrs. William Hoffman, Klingerstown; Herman, Tremont, and Mrs. Harold Salada, Lebanon; 81 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; one brother, Wilson, Valley View and one sister, Mrs. Henry Harner, Sacramento.
    Funeral will be Wednesday morning from H.E. Miller Funeral Home, Valley View with further services in Evangelical United Brethren Church. Burial will be in United Brethren Cemetery. The Rev. H. M. Mentzer will officiate.
