    NATHANIEL A. WIEST
    Nathaniel A. Wiest, prominent Klingerstown retired farmer died at his home at that place Friday evening at 5 o'clock after an illness of four days caused by pneumonia.
    He was a son of Harry and Catherine (Smeltz) Wiest, was born at Klingerstown and was aged 72. He was united in marriage to Emma Schwalm who with the following children survive: Mrs. Gurney Starr, Rebuck; Nevin, Trevorton; Mrs. James Miller and Mrs. Guy Bixler, of Valley View; Mrs. Allen Deibert, Lykens, R. D; Clarence, of Klingerstown. Mrs. Henry Snyder, of Elizabethville, and Mrs. Russel Paul, at home. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister: Charles, of Sacramento; John, of Klingerstown; Morris, of Ashland, and Mrs. Alvin Erdman, of Klingerstown.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 o'clock at the home followed by services at Klinger's Church, near Erdman, of which he was a member. The Rev. Paul C. Scheirer, pastor of the Lykens Reformed Church, officiated and burial was in the Klinger's Church Cemetery.

    Charles Monroe Wiest, 87, retired Saeramento farmer, died suddenly of a heart seizure Monday evening at his home. He was a native of Jordan Township, Northumberland County, born there Sept. 14, 1870, son of the late Harry and Catherine Smeltz Wiest.
    Mr. Wiest, a long time resident of Schuylkill County, had retired in 1948. His wife, the former Mary Amelia Clark, preceded him in death.
    Mr. Wiest was a member of Salem's Reformed Church, Klingerstown R. D.
    Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Wilmer Brown, Leck Kill; Mrs. Guerney Smeltz, Sacramento; Mrs. Charles Rebuck, Klingerstown R.D. 1; Mrs. Gertie Kissinger, Star Route Spring Glen, and Guy Wiest, at home; 20 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
    Services will be held from Buffington funeral home, Valley View, Thursday at 2 p. m. in charge of Rev. H. M. Mentzer, his pastor. Interment will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Klingerstown, R.D.
    Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
