Services were held Thursday, Jan. 16, at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

Klinger rites
Services for Leon O. Klinger, 82, of RD1 Sacramento, who died Sunday morning at home, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran (Klinger's ) Church, Erdman, with the Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran (Klinger's) Cemetery, Erdman. Buffing-ton-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Klingerstown, Jan. 4, 1919, he was a son of the late Daniel and Stella Klinger Klinger.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired shovel operator, having worked at Rosini Coal Co., Shamokin.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran (Klinger's) Church and the American Legion, Tower City.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Shadle, in 1969; a brother, Alvin Klinger, in 1997.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Elva Harner; four sons, Gene, Elizabethville, James, Millersburg, Leon Jr., Gratz, and Rodney, Sacramento; three daughters, Dorothy Yeich, Mechanicsburg, Diane Mausser, Hegins, and Rose Frantz, RD Lykens; a brother, Marlin, Spring Glen; 11 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren.
