    Ray Lawrence Maurer, 37, manager and president of the Hazle Milk and Ice Cream Company, died of a heart attack at his home, 25 West Walnut street, Saturday at 5:30 p. m.
    He was born in Klingertown, the son of Sadie (Deitz) Maurer and the late Allison C. Maurer. He wus affiliated with the Grace Reformed Church, of this city, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 193.
    Surviving are his wife, Geraldine (nee Morsching) Maurer; three sons, Ray Lawrence, Jr., William Allison, and Ronald Lewis; his mother, Mrs. Sadie Maurer; and one sister, Mrs. William Simmons, of West Hazleton.
    The funeral will be held from the Grebey Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p. m., with services in charge of Rev. William Geiger. Interment will be in the Klingertown cemetery.

    Lillian M. Simmons, 89, of Sugarloaf, died Thursday at her home.
    Born in Klingerstown on Feb. 21 , 1917, she was the daughter of the late Allison and Sadie (Deitz) Maurer and spent her entire life in the Hazleton area.
    After high school graduation, Lillian attended Perm State University and earned a bachelor's degree from Bucknell University. In earlier years, she worked for her parents in the family's business, Hazle Milk, and then, until her retirement, worked as an executive secretary at Miner's Bank in West Hazleton.
    Mrs. Simmons was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Hazleton.
    Throughout her life she enjoyed music and was an accomplished organ and piano player. Over the years, she served as organist for several churches in the Hazleton area.
    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband, William J. Simmons, who died in 1986, and a brother, Ray Maurer.
    Surviving Lillian are her nephews, Kent Simmons, Harold Simmons Jr., Ray Maurer, William A Maurer and Ronald Maurer.
    Lillian's funeral will be on Monday at 11 a.m. from the Butler Chapel of Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 530 W. Butler Drive, Drums, where her pastor, the Rev. M. Jane Hess, will preside. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Conyngham.
    Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Grace Maurer; two daughters, Carolyn, Austin, Texas; Elizabeth, Miami, Fla., and a brother, Alphonse, Hazleton.
    The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Fierro Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 : 30 a.m. in Most Precious Blood Church. Interment will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery.

    He graduated Mount Carmel High School where he played trumpet in the band, and continued playing trumpet in area bands.
    He was married to Barbara Williams, who passed away Oct. 21, 2014.
    He worked at Maurer's Dairy, in Mount Carmel, where he pasteurized milk for 20 years then Leichtman Ice Cream, in Hazleton, where he made a formula for ice cream mix, and at Fleetwood Motorhomes, in Paxinos, for 10 years in the plumbing department. After retiring from Fleetwood, he move to Florida where he enjoyed doing handyman work.
    He was known for telling jokes.
    Jackie is survived by his children, Jackie Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Darlene, Edward, and Kimberly Raker Przekop and his son-in-law, Harry; eight grandchildren, Jackie III, Jesse, Krystal, Shane, Noah, Seth, Chase and Cheyenne; four great-grandchildren; and his girlfriend, Diana, with whom he lived with for several years when he passed away.
    Jackie's wishes were for no services.6

    Born at West Frankfort, Ill., May 20, 1921, he was a son of the late Adam and Ipsa Frances Olson. He was a 1939 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and received his bachelor of science degree and master's degree in aeronautical administration from Auburn University, Auburn, Ala.
    He was an Air Force veteran of World War H, serving as a pilot in the African, Italian and European theaters.
    He retired in 1962, after 21 years of service, as a lieutenant colonel.
    He had been employed by Mack Trucks, Allentown, and later at Hayward, Calif. He was last employed as an instructor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical School at Moffett Naval Air Station, California, retiring in 1987.
    He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ Church, RR1 Klingerstown, and. Masonic Lodge, Fort Worth, Texas.

    Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Salem Cemetery, RR1 Klingerstown. The Rev. Mark Ro-thermel will officiate. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

    She was the wife of the John O. Hutton, who died Feb, 9, 2000.
    Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Verna M.R. Dietz Semerod and the late William H. Semerod.
    She was a beautician in Pottstown, retiring in 2000.
    She was a member of St. Paul's UCC, Amityville; a member of Queen Bieb and 'er "Mary" Red Hatters-Chapter 10741; and Order of the Eastern Star, Mount Carmel.
    Surviving are one son, David John Hutton, Noblesville, Ind; three daughters, Barbara J., wife of Charles Lewiski, Pott-stown, Becky R., wife of David Hurlock, Pottstown, and Tina M. Paul, at home; one brother, Jackie E. Semerod, Largo, Fla; two sisters, June Olson, West Linn, Ore. and Lillie Dietrich, Aurora, Colo; a brother and sister-in-law Gladys E. Hutton and Russell Fessler, Pottsville; 11 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.
    Services will be held at the convenience of the family Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, is in charge of the arrangements.
