    Cynthia M. Semerod
    December 15, 2020
Our community lost a beautiful person in Cynthia “Cindy” M. Semerod, 63, of Minersville, who passed away Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
Born Nov. 22, 1957, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Edith Updegrove Lescavage. She was a 1975 graduate of Minersville Area High School. She had a career in banking and currently worked for BB&T, Pottsville.
She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and a current member of Holy Family Parish, Minersville. Cindy was a beautiful person, both inside and out. She was a generous and kind person whose smile lit up a room. She made friends wherever she went, and people genuinely enjoyed being around her.
She came from a tight-knit family and shared a special bond with all her siblings, especially her sister, Lynn Ann. She enjoyed casino trips with her husband and family, shopping trips with her sister and friends, and made great memories at the beach with her niece and nephew, Dominique and Michael.
Cindy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, David E. Semerod; four siblings, Bernard Lescavage (spouse, Michelle), of Minersville, Lynn Ann Dudash (spouse, Michael), of Peach Mountain, Steven Lescavage (spouse, Heidi), of Primrose, and Kevin Lescavage (companion, Lori Spencer), of West Pittston; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; her maternal uncle, David Updegrove, of Pitman; her paternal aunt, Pat Lescavage, of Arizona. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Olive Semerod, of Pottsville, brothers-in-law; sisters-in- law; close friends.
Cindy loved animals and could be counted on to take in a stray or rescue, whether feline or canine. She was the “best fur mom” around, and will be missed by her fur babies.
Even though our hearts are broken, we have wonderful memories and will always have a guardian angel watching over us.
The family will accept visitors at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. There is no visitation Wednesday morning; however, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce St.,Minersville.
