Dianne Elizabeth Knorr, 80, of Gratz, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the UPMC-Osteopathic Hospital.
Dianne was born in Coal Township, on Friday, June 22, 1945, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Esther Derk Gooderham.
Dianne was a 1963 graduate of Southern Area Joint High School, where she was the school's first valedictorian. She graduated from Susquehanna University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and from Bloomsburg University, where she earned her Master’s degree in Education. She studied abroad in Madrid, Spain.
She was a high school Spanish teacher for 37 years, 35 year of which were at Line Mountain High School.
Dianne had a talent for crafting. Her specialty was hand cut Sherenschnitte paper crafts, but she also quilted, knitted, and crocheted countless treasured keepsakes. She was a lifelong learner with a special passion for science and mathematics. She loved to cook, read, garden, and travel to new places.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean L. Knorr, 2010; a sister Debra Hayes and her husband Rodney.
Surviving are her daughter Kate Elizabeth Knorr and husband Michael Neely; her granddaughter, Anne Elizabeth Neely; two bonus daughters, Leslie Wiest and her husband Daryl and their daughter Ivy, and Ali Clark and husband, Kevin Compton; two sisters, Judith Gooderham and Linda Dent and her husband Dennis; and cherished friends, Sheila and Trent Reed.
A celebration of Dianne's life will be held at a later date.
