    — WINFIELD — Guy W. Rothermel, 83, of Winfield, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, at his home.
    He was born in Lykens on May 18, 1920, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Schaffer) Rothermel. He married the former Frances Grace Bair on Aug. 29, 1970.
    Guy was a retired union mason who had worked for various contractors in the area.
    He was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.
    Guy was also a member of Bricklayers’ Union Local #5 of Williamsport.
    He enjoyed traveling and hunting.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children, Kathy Shur, of Dalmatia and Guy W. Rothermel Jr., of South Caroliina; several grandchildren; and one sister, Alma Klinger, of Lykens.
    He was preceded in death by one brother, Nevin, and one sister, Mildred Schwalm.
    Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
    Burial will be in Shreiner’s Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1420 N. Susquehanna Trail, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.3
