  George J. Phillips, 77, retired farmer. died last night at his home in Herndon, following an illness of only week.
  Mr. Phillips, a son of the late Elias and Katie (Christopher) Phillips, was born near Urban, Jordon Township. He was a farmer for most of his life, near Fisher's Ferry. He retired several years ago, but continued to maintain interest in farming, serving as treasurer of the Grange. He was treasurer of the Herndon Manufacturing Company, also.
  Surviving are four sons, Harry and William, Sunbury R. D; and Ray and Lee, both of Herndon. There are 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild surviving, also.
  Funeral services will be held at Herndon on Saturday morning, beginning at 10:00. Further services will be held in Urban Church, with Rev. Charles Herman officiating. Burial will be in Urban Cemetery.

  Mrs. I Phillips was a native of near Fisher's Ferry and resided there all her life until two years ago, when the family moved to Herndon after Mr. Phillips retired from farming. She was a member of the Reformed faith.
  Surviving are her husband and the following children: Ray and Lee, Herndon; Harry and William Fisher's Ferry and Mrs. Mary Snyder, Sunbury, R. D. 3.
