    NORMAN E. SCHWALM
    Norman E. Schwalm, 29, died suddenly at the home of her father-in-law, Peter Lileck, at Brockton, on Wednesday morning. He was stricken with a heart attack which resulted in his death almost immediately.
    He was born and lived the early part of his life in Tremont, a son of Mrs. Laura and the late Ezra Schwalm. The family moved to Pottsville from Tremont, where the father continued the tailoring trade for some time.
    Norman was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, and was employed at the Brokhoff Dairy, Pottsville. He is survived by his wife, a 3-year-old son, Norman Jr; his mother, Mrs. Laura Schwalm; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Kalbach, of Philadelphia, and two brothers, Roy and Paul, of Pottsville. Funeral services will be held in the Trinity Lutheran Church tomorrow afternoon.

    Ira Clayton Schwalm, Valley View, was taken ill with stroke while feeding chickens on his chicken farm in Valley View late Wednesday afternoon and died a short time afterward.
    Born in Valley View on June 27, 1877. he was a son of the late Samuel and Lizzie Schwalm, and lived his lifetime in that community. He was a member of the United Brethren church and the Sunday School. He was also a member bf the Ellsworth Lodge of the I.O.O.F.
    Surviving are his wife Tamie, and the following childrne [sic], Ivah, Gred, Clayton, Allen and Mrs. John Burgey, all of Valley View and Ray of Vancouver, British Columbia.
    He is also survived by one brother, Elvin Schwalm, Frystown and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Schwalm Philadelphia, and Mrs. Mabel Haigh, Los Angeles, Calif, and these half brothers and sisters, Theodore Schwalm. Roswell Schwalm and Mrs. Mary Schwalm, all of Lancas ter, and Mrs. Grace Zwade, Philadelphia.,

    He was born May 9, 1906 in Valley View, a son of the late Ira and Tamie (Kessler) Schwalm.
    Mr. Schwalm was a public accountant and tax consultant. He was also a partner in the Davis Insurance Co., Klingerstown, and has served as justice of the peace in Valley View about 20 years.
    Mr. Schwalm was a member of St. Andrew.'s United Methodist Church, Valley View. His wfe, the former Grace Spotts, died in 1961.
    Surviving are two daughters, Marian, an attorney, wife of Austin Furman, and Barbara, wife of Rex Black, both of Harrisburg; three grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Spotts, at home; a sister, Mrs. John Burgey, Valley View; two brothers, Fred, Valley View; and Ray of Bellingham, Wash.

    Hilda M. Bergey
    Mrs. Hilda Marie Bergey, 67, wife of John W. Bergey, of Valley View, died Wednesday morning at her home. She had been ill for some time.
    Mrs. Bergey was born Aug. 28, 1910 in Valley View, daughter of the late Ira and Tanie Dreibelbis [Tamie Kessler] Schwalm. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist. Church, Valley View.
    Surviving, in addition to her husband, are four children, William, of Corsicana, Tex., Connie, wife of Donald Scheib, Spring Glen, Joyce, wife of Caranin Scicchitano, Prospect Park, Philadelphia, and Joanne, wife of Gerry Stiely, Hegins; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers, Fred Schwalm, Valley View, and Ray Schwalm, of Washington state.
    Services will be held Sunday afternoon in St. Andrew's Church with her pastor, the Rev. Leland Keemer officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. The Arthur R. Buffington Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

    Dr. Ray A. Schwalm, a professor of visual communications at Western Washington University, died Saturday in Seattle.
    Dr. Schwalm, of 438 16th St., was 69.
    He was born March 13, 1918, in Valley View, Pa., and had been a resident of Bellingham since 1948. He was a professor in the VICOED division of WWU’s Technology Department.
    Dr Schwalm earned his bachelor's degree at Millersville (Pa.) University and his master's and doctorate of education degrees at Oregon State University He was a member of the International Graphic Arts Association, of which he was twice selected as man of the year. He also served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a flight officer during World War II.
    He is survived by his wife Enid of the family home; a son Roger and his wife Claudia of Washington D.C; a daughter Patricia and her husband Col. Gerry Driscoll of Concord, Calif; and seven grandchildren.
    At Dr Schwalm's request there will be no services. Cremation is at Greenacres Crematorium. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

    Born December 25, 1925, in Valley View, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Bergey) Schwalm. She was the widow of John S. Curry since 1984, John G. Brubaker since 2009 and was also preceded in death by daughters, Pamela K. Curry in 1977 and Jennifer L. Curry in 1962.
    A graduate of Reading Hospital School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse for the former Hershey Hospital and a member of Lebanon Valley Bible Church.
    Surviving are her children: Luanne, wife of James Reese, of Womelsdorf; John, husband of Vickie Curry, of Hershey; and Sally, wife of Nathan Bacon, of Waynesboro; step-sons: Donald, husband of Barbara Brubaker, of Palmyra; Michael, husband of Margie Brubaker, of Frederick, Md; Eric, husband of Sue Brubaker, of Palmyra; and Daryl, husband of Susan Brubaker, of Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at Fishburn United Methodist Church, 1215 Fishburn Road, Hershey, preceded by a visitation beginning at 12:00 noon.
    Burial will be in Fishburn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Londonderry Village, Good Samaritan Fund, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078.
