Eva Elmira Beury, 101 years, of Ashland passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday morning, February 19, 2023.
Born July 23, 1921, in Spring Glen to the late William R. and S. Alma (Coleman) Schwalm, Eva graduated from Hubley High School in 1939.
She owned and operated the Beury Insurance Agency in Ashland from 1967 to 1988. She was an extremely active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, especially in the choir, WELCA, quilting, and the alter guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Lamar Beury, her daughter, Alyce E. Klock, and her seven siblings, Mae Frye, Ray Schwalm, Hilda Harner, James Schwalm, Elva Huntzinger, Leroy Schwalm, Charles Schwalm, and their spouses.
Left to treasure Eva’s memory are her grandchildren, Kathy Rowe (Daniel) and Ken Klock (Jennifer), and her son-in-law Fred Klock (Carol).
Eva is also survived by her seven great grandchildren, Timothy Rowe (Stephanie), Benjamin Rowe, Elizabeth Rowe, Sean Klock, Timothy Klock, Mason Klock, and Emily Klock.
She will be greatly missed by numerous friends and family who loved her dearly.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd from 6:00-9:00 PM and Thursday, February 23rd from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, February 23rd at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Christ Church Cemetery-Fountain Springs.

LeRoy W. Schwalm, 90, of Silver Spring Township, passed away Thursday at home surrounded by his family. Born in Spring Glen, Oct. 31, 1923, he was a son of the late Mae Schwalm Fry. He was raised by his grandparents, William "Bill" and Alma Coleman Schwalm.
LeRoy served in the Army Air Force as a flight officer, serving as a bombardier/navigator on B-17 aircraft. He retired from the Navy Fleet Material Support Office (FMSO) in Mechanicsburg, as a budget analyst supervisor, after more than 40 years of federal service.
He was an active member of St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, Carlisle Springs, where he served for many years on the consistory, taught the adult Sunday school class and served as church school superintendent. He also served as treasurer for the Mercersburg Association of the United Church of Christ for many years.
He was a member of American Legion Post 109, NARFE 1816, Mechanicsburg, Members 1st FCU Senior Citizens Coffee Corner and Mechanicsburg Sportsmen's Association.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Christopher Seiff.
Remaining to celebrate his life are his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce Dunkelberger Schwalm; son, Vaughn LeRoy Schwalm, Pine Grove; daughter, Holly Joyce Schwalm, Mechanicsburg; three granddaughters, Jennifer D. Jane M. Blough
Jane M. Blough, 45, of RD3 Pine Grove, died Thursday at her home.
Born in Orwin, she was a daughter of Theodore and Doris Fry Frankenstein, Joliett. She was a graduate of Tremont High School.
Mrs. Blough was a secretary at Schuylkill County Intermediate Unit 29, Mar Lin.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Tremont.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Oscar Sr; two sons, Oscar Jr., Pine Grove, and Michael, Grantville; a daughter, Michele, at home; two sisters, Carol Gibson, Muir, and Susan Gibson, Tower City; a brother, Thomas Frankenstein, Tower City; two grandchildren.
