LYKENS - Elizabeth L. Engle passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025.
Elizabeth was born February 2, 1932 (93) to Robert and Kathryn Hoffman.
She graduated from Farley Township High School in 1950, lived in Lykens for 70 years, and was a social member of the Liberty Hose Company No. 2 (Fire Department in Lykens, Pa.)
Elizabeth was an avid fan of Penn State Basketball and Football teams. She enjoyed collecting chickens and snowmen.
Elizabeth devoted her life to her husband of 73 years Stanley, her Sons, Grandchildren and Great grandchildren. She leaves behind, to celebrate her life, her husband Stanley (age 95), three sons Robert and his wife Kathleen (Tiazkun), Randy and his wife Denise (Ressler) and Dennis and his partner Julie Myers. Elizabeth has 7 Grandchildren: Amanda Mease, Erin Smith, Elizabeth Crucitt, Erika Thomas, Kelsey Hepding, DJ Engle and Danell Buffinton. Additionally she has 15 Great Grandchildren; (with #16 on the way) Cali and Luke Mease, Elizabeth and Charlotte Smith, Grace and Jackson Crucitt, Levi, Jordan and Avery Thomas, Wesley, Logan and Aubrey Hepding, Lydia and Lee Engle and Beau Buffington.
A viewing will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Minnich Family Funeral Homes, 1238 W. Market Street, Williamstown, Pa. 17098 with a service to follow at 11 AM.

Kathryn Hoffman, 88, of 632 North St., Lykens, formerly of Branchdale, died Tuesday at Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Branchdale, Dec. 6, 1905, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Rebecca Hoover Scholl.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty L. Engle, Lykens; three grandchildren; seven great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from John M. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens. The Rev. Lloyd Shellenberger will officiate. Interment will be in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery, Llewellyn.

Pottsville, May 24 (U.P.) - Robert Hoffman, coach of the Valley View baseball club, died early today in Pottsville Hospital from injuries received when a Reading company locomotive struck an automobile in which Hoffman. was a passenger. The accident occurred at a Williamstown grade crossing while Hoffman and four others were on their way to a baseball game. His companions were not seriously injured.

Robert Hoffman was born and reared at Valley View. He was a miner by occupation and was an ardent baseball player. He coached the Valley View club and was well known in the West End.
His widow was the former Miss Elizabeth Scholl, of Branchdale, and in addition to her, he is survived by a number of brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ralph Kries, Tremont; Mrs. Lottie Kemble, Schuylkill Haven; Mrs. Sally Conrad, Harry Hoffman and Mrs. Allen Koppenhaver, all of Valley View; Mrs. Harry Deitrick, Elizabethville; Mrs. Robert Reed of Frystown and Miss Margaret Hoffman, Atlantic City.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:30 o'clock from the late home with further services at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Ethel E. Kocher, 47, of Berrsyburg, died at her home last Tuesday.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Pillow.
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Audrey Kocher, Upper Darby, and Mrs. Harold E. Engle, Millersburg; her mother, Mrs. Della Rowe of Pillow; a son, Daniel Kocher of Berrysburg; one grandchild.
