  Services for Roy W. Kline, 67, of 210 Willow Lane, Valley View, who died Monday at his home, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. The Rev. Jack Murphy will officiate. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
  Born in Hegins Township, Nov. 2, 1927, he was a son of the late Ray and Martha Schaffer Kline. He was a 1946 graduate of Hegins Township High School.
  He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
  He was retired from the state Department of Environmental Resources Rausch Creek treatment plant, Valley View.
  He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8237, Valley View; Valley View Gun Club; Hegins and Valley View Fire companies; UF & Druf Hunting Camp and White Ash Land Association, both of Sullivan County.
  Surviving are his wife, the former Nancy Scheib; a son, Richard, Valley View; a daughter, Ann Miller, RD2 Hegins; four brothers, Warren and Clair, both of RD1 Hegins, Charles, Spring Glen, and Clayton, Valley View; two sisters, Verna Shadle, Palo Alto, and Ethel Chubb, Lykens; four grandchildren.

  DALMATIA -- Lillian Catherine Adams, 81, of RR1 Dalmatia, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at her home.
  She was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Dalmatia, a daughter of the late Milton S. and Elizabeth H. (Showers) Adams.
  Miss Adams was a 1932 graduate of Dalmatia High School; a 1943 graduate of Philadelphia School of the Bible; a 1945 graduate of the Missionary Medical Institute of Toronto; a 1947 graduate of Child Evangelism Institute; and earned her nursing degree in 1949 from the E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital, Buffalo.
  She was employed as a registered nurse in Buffalo, Harrisburg and Elizabethville and was a private duty nurse.
  Miss Adams was a member of Valley Bible Church, Lykens.
  Surviving are two sisters, Anna M. Adams of Dalmatia and Selma E. Engelhardt of Salina, Kan; two brothers, John O. Adams of Morgantown, N.C. and Neil R. Adams of RR1 Dalmatia; nieces; and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Albert, Paul and David Adams.
  The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Market and Chestnut streets, Pillow, by the Rev. David Brungard. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery, RR Dalmatia.
  Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

  NORTHUMBERLAND - Lena E. (Wirt) Adams, 89, of Northumberland, formerly of McKees Road, Dalmatia, passed away on Saturday morning, Feb. 12, 2011, at the Emmanuel Home, Northumberland.
  She was born July 13, 1921, in Jordan Township, a daughter of the late John A. and Emma Jane (Phillips) Wirt. On June 28, 1942, she married R. Henry Adams, who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1987.
  Lena was a 1940 graduate of Lykens Valley Vocational High School, Berrysburg.
  She was a member of Salem Zion Church, Pillow.
  Lena was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She loved her family and grandsons. She always made the holiday meals, and her filling and chiffon cakes were delicious.
  She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Barbara Adams, of Dalmatia, and Dane and Edith Adams, of Northumberland; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and David Comes, of Dalmatia; two grandchildren, Larry Adams Jr. and Eric Adams; and one brother, Lynn Wirt, of Northumberland.
  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar and J. Owen Wirt; four sisters, Geneva Snyder, Irene Chubb, Marian Feese and Elva Rothermel; and one son-in-law, Steven Miller.
  A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Market Street, Pillow, with the Rev. Glen Keidel and the Rev. J. Robert Snyder officiating.
  Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
