    John Henry Scheib, husband of Esther (Amole) Scheib, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 24, 2011. John was the son of Arthur and Maude (Maurer), born in Hegins, PA.
    John served in the U.S. Army from 1951 intil his retirement in 1971 as a Sergeant First Class. He served in Korea and two tours of duty in Viet Nam. At his retirement, he was attached to the 205th AVN Company, 11th AVN Battalion, Cu Chi, South Viet Nam.
    He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Seven Overseas Service Bars.
    After retiring from the Army, John worked at the Valley Forge Flag Company, where he took great pride in production of the world's largest U.S. Flag. He was also a security guard at Stanley G. Flaggs. John was a Life Member of Foreign Wars, Post 23, Lebanon, PA.
    John is survived by sons, Jerry of Lykens, and Larry; daughters, Faith Scheib of Hamburg, Gail Ahner of Schuykill Haven, Sherry Cromleigh of Duncannon, Judy Schoffstall of Wiconisco, Eleanor Ream and Dorothy Clifford. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Phyllis Klinger and Kathryn Kehler. He was preceded in death by his son, John, who died in 1975, and daughter, Brenda Allen, who died in 2007.
    Contributions in John's name can be made to Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Drive, Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

    She is predeceased by a daughter, Brenda M. Allen; sister, Martha Neuman; brothers, Howard, John, David, Harold, and Harry Amole.
    Her survivors include: two daughters, Eleanor E. Ream, Boyertown, and Dorothy E. Clifford, Stowe; brothers, Paul, husband of Marie Amole, Pughtown; Joseph, husband of Marie Amole, Stowe, and Leonard, husband of Esther Amole, Douglassville; one sister, Dorothy Miller, Birdsboro; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, 955 N Charlotte St, Pottstown. Rev Barry L. Moyer and Chaplain Michael Sullivan, officiating. Relatives and friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Dr #C, Ft. Washington, PA 19034.

    Memorial services will be held at her church on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM with The Rev. Nathan Corl Minnich officiating. Inurment following at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.
