  • MILLERSBURG - Marlin N. Straub, 70, of 3843 Shippen Dam Road, passed away Monday, November 5, 2007 at his residence.
    He was born Thursday, April 15, 1937 in Berrysburg, PA, son of the late Marlin and Elsie Mace Straub.
    He worked as a Draftsman for Modjeski & Masters, Inc. in Harrisburg. He was a member, elder, councilmember and choir member at Peace UCC in Berrysburg; Life member of Berrysburg Fire Company; member of the Line Mt. Good Sam Club Chapter #30; member of the former Berrysburg Band; enjoyed camping, traveling and was an avid tennis and racquetball player.
    Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Darlee Micka Straub; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and David Smeltz of Elizabethville; son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Penny Straub of Berrysburg; son, Kevin Straub and his fiancee, Joann Sheldon of Elizabethville; brother, Raymond Straub of Millersburg, RD; sister, Bonnitta Hassinger of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Jared Troutman, Jason Troutman, Ashley Straub, Adam Straub, Nolan Straub, Nicholas Straub; step-grandsons, Ian Smeltz and Brent Smeltz; and father-in-law, Herman G. Micka of Sunbury. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Clark Straub.
    Services will be held at Peace UCC, Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jeff Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax. Friends will be received from 9-11 a.m.,Thursday, November 8, at Peace UCC in Berrysburg.
    Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central PA, P.O. Box 266, Enola, PA17025-0266 or to Peace UCC Church, 150 N. Chestnut Street, Berrysburg, PA 17005.

    MILLERSBURG - Darlee D. Straub, 71, of 3843 Shippen Dam Road, passed away Tuesday October 27, 2009 at her residence.
    She was born July 12, 1938 in Spring Glen, PA, daughter of the late Herman G. and Sara Bergey Micka.
    She was the secretary for Mifflin Twp.
    She was a member of Peace UCC in Berrysburg and the Women's Guild and former Sunday school teacher at the church; member of the former Farm Women Group #14 and Line Mt. Good Sam Club Chapter #30. Darlee enjoyed camping, snow mobiling, skiing and most of all spending time with her family.
    She was the widow of Marlin N. Straub.
    She is survived by a daughter, Christine Smeltz and her husband David of Elizabethville; two sons, Kevin and fiancee' Joann Sheldon of Elizabethville and Kerry and his wife Penny of Berrysburg; grandchildren, Jared Troutman, Jason Troutman, Adam Straub, Nolan Straub, Nicholas Straub, Ashley Straub; step grandsons, Ian Smeltz and Brent Smeltz. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Clark Straub.
    Services will be held at Peace UCC in Berrysburg on Monday November 2, 2009 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jeff Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m., on Monday at the church.
    Hoover Funeral Home in Millersburg, is handling the arrangements.
