    Clyde R. Schaffner, 87, of Dalmatia, passed away on December 15, 2017, at the Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township. He was born in Dalmatia on May 21, 1930, a son of the late Linnie Schaffner and the late Carmie Schaffner. Clyde was employed at Muskin Shoe Factory, and later retiring form Kinney Shoe. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Troutman-Schaffner.
    Clyde enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a member of theLower Mahanoy, Shamokin Dam, and Herndon Fire House, Sunbury Eagles, VFW Diamond Jubilee, Gratz, Alvin Long American Legion, Mandata, and Erdman Sportsman Assoc.
    Clyde is survived by his two sons, Brad Schaffner of Dalmatia, PA, Lon Schaffner of Little River, SC; two brothers, Derl, and Dean Schaffner; five sisters, June Leitzel, Ethel Coleman, Donna Reisch, Sandy Witmer, Barbra Strohecker; six grandchildren, Julie Rupp, Andrea Troutman, Janelle Schaffner, Heather Masser, Yvonne Brown, Justin Hoy; ten great-grandchildren, Brianna, Zach, Kara Rupp, Alex, Sean Troutman, Miranda Lark, Calissa, Caitlyn Bowers, Connor Brown, Ella Masser. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
    Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Dalmatia.1

    MILLERSBURG- Betty M. Masser, 86, a resident at the Manor at Susquehanna Village, formerly of Dalmatia and a long time resident of Florida, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at the manor.
    A native of Dalmatia RD, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Anna (Leib) Long.
    She was the widow of Charles R. Masser; they were married 59 years.
    She was retired from the former Johnson-Bailee shoe factory in Millersburg.
    She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sunset Harbor, Fla. and was active in the church choir and the ladies sewing circle at the church.
    Survivors include her companion Elwyn Boyer of Pillow; one daughter, Sharon Stauffer of Paxton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lahn and Sue Ann Masser of Paxton and JerryMasser of Summerfield, Fla; grandchildren and their spouses, Georgina and Troy Starr of Valley View, Rhonda and Vance Joy of New Cumberland; Brandy and Robert Faust Jr. of Malta; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Morganne Starr, Austin Lebo, Faith and Hope Joy, Robert III and Shannon Faust.
    She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Clark, Ralph, George, Charles, Earl, Ernest, Roland; and four sisters, Linnie Schaffner, Violet Bingaman, and Tessie and Daisey Long.
    The family will receive family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, 118 S. Market St., Millersburg.
    A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Morgan officiating.
    Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
