Carol A. Shomper, 76, of Klingerstown, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at her home.
Born June 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Tamie Clark Maurer.
She was preceded in death in 2014 by her husband, Dennis L. Shomper, to whom she was married for nearly 50 years.
Carol graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1962 and worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania until her dream of becoming a mother came true. She was a homemaker, and then returned to work as an administrative assistant for Nationwide Insurance with Tobash Insurance Agency until her retirement in 2007.
She was a lifelong member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown.
Carol enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach in Ocean City, MD, and playing card games with family. She was a deeply devoted grandmother, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them by attending their extracurricular activities.
Surviving are a son, Jason and his wife Mary, Rochester, NY; a daughter, Kristin and her husband Peter Frederick, Jr., Auburn; five grandchildren, Katherine and Luke Shomper, and Giana, Braxton, and Danica Frederick; a sister, Grace Rebuck, Klingerstown; a brother, Les Maurer, Dalmatia; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Maurer, and a sister, Kathryn Rickert.
A private service for close friends and family will be held 11am Wednesday at Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, with Pastor Mark Mantz officiating. Interment will follow the service at Salem Church of Rough and Ready cemetery, Klingerstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109, or to the Salem Church of Rough and Ready Organ Fund, 1128 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, PA 17941.

Sandy was a long time member of the Idela Rebecca Lodge, Dornsife. A lifetime member of the Lower Mahanoy Fire Co, Dalmatia where she volunteered and held several positions since 1982. She was also a volunteer EMT with the Dalmatia Ambulance in the 80's.
She worked for the former Johnson Bailey Shoe factory, Millersburg; HighMark Blue Shield, Mechanicsburg; and retired from Walmart, Elizabethville in 2012.
Following Sandy's wishes, there will be no services.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Patricia (Wiest) Stiely, they were married March 5, 1960; two sons Kenneth, husband of Yvonne Stiely, of Hegins; Alan Stiely, of Sacramento; a daughter, Trisha, wife of Philip Mader, of Dauphin; 3 grandchildren, Derck Stiely and his wife Kayla, Timothy Stiely and his wife Angela, and Kayla Stiely; 8 great grandchildren Jonathan, Nicholas, Elliot and Savanah, and Kendra, Carsyn, Camdyn, and Kinsley; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Tyler Stiely, a daughter-in-law Darlene Stiely a sister Romaine Piergallini and a brother Ronald C. Stiely.

Ronald C. Stiely, 54, of 640-3 Geneva Drive, Mechanicsburg, formerly of RR1 Hegins and Camp Hill, died Saturday [January 23, 1997] afternoon as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on Route 901 near
Tower City.
Born in RR1 Klingerstown, March 15, 1942, he was a son of Verna J. Clark Stiely, RR1 Hegins, and Wellington L. "Bud" Stiely, who died Dec. 15, 1994. He was a 1960 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.
He was an employee of the Quaker Oats Co., Camp Hill, for 28 years.
He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of Valley View Gun Club; Valley View and Mechanicsburg VFW posts; American Legion Home Association, Mechanicsburg; and Moose Lodge, Carlisle.
A sister, Romaine Piergallini, died April 22, 1987.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a son, Steve, Halifax; a daughter, Robin Diaz, Mechanicsburg; a brother, Darwin L., RR1 Klingerstown; a granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown. The Rev. Mark Rothermel will officiate. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, RR1 Klingerstown. There will be no viewing.6
He was buried on 22 January 1997, at Salem Church Cemetery, Rough and Ready, Schuylkill County, PA.3,2
