    HEGINS MAN LOST LIFE IN MINE HOLE SATURDAY
    Henry J. Huntzinger, age 88 of Hegins, was killed instantly when caught by a fall of rock and coal while working in a mine shaft on the Good Springs mountain Saturday evening. His brother Ralph, working with him was not seriously injured. Although rescuers worked frantically Huntzinger was dead when his body was recovered.
    He was a son of Alvin B. and Sallie (Saltzer) Huntzinger, born in Hubley Township, Schuylkill County, October 20, 1894, and was confirmed a member of Frieden's Lutheran Church in early youth. He was graduated from the Hegins Township High School as a member of the class of 1911 and later attended the West Chester Normal School. He was married to Miss Meda O. Umholtz June 30, 1917, and for a time the couple resided in Elizabethville.
    Mr. Huntzinger was a World War Veteran, and a member of the Gratz Post, American Legion. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and was affiliated with the P. O. S. of A. fraternal order. His age was 38 years, 5 months and 25 days.
    Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Huntzinger of Hegins; his wife, two children, Hilda and Carl Huntzinger, both at home; three brothers, Ralph and Melvin Huntzinger of Hegins and Ernest Huntzinger of Ashland and five sisters; Mrs. Guy Artz, Mrs. Clair Gleis and Mrs. Marlin Rickert, all of Hegins; Mrs. Paul Clouser of Tremont and Renee Huntzinger, at home.
    Funeral services were held from his parents home at 9.30 o'clock Wednesday morning, with subsequent services in the Gratz Lutheran and Reformed Church. Rev. Dr. C. P. Wehr, pastor of the Lykens Valley Reformed Charge officiated and members of the Gratz Legion Post conducted military rites at the grave. Interment made in the Gratz cemetery was in charge of the W. H. Bowman funeral service.

    Born in Gratz, Nov. 7, 1895, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Anna Radel Umholtz.
    She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Elizabethville.
    Surviving are a son, Carl Huntzinger, Mount Wolf; a daughter, Hilda Herb, Valley View; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Simeon's Lutheran Church, Gratz, with the Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. Burial will be in Gratz Union Cemetery. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, is in charge of arrangements.
