    Lloyd E. Dietz
Lloyd E. Dietz, 55, a life long resident of Frackville, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, February 3rd surrounded by his family.
Born in Pottsville, Lloyd was the son of the late Robert Dietz and Carol Benesky Dietz. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud family man whose greatest joy came from those closest to him.
Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and salmon fishing. He had a true passion for coaching and dedicated many years to coaching baseball, always emphasizing the fundamentals of the game and the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and most importantly having fun. One of his greatest joys was traveling each year to Cooperstown, New York, to attend the annual baseball tournament, an experience he truly cherished with the team.
A lifelong sports fan, Lloyd proudly wore number 14 throughout his athletic career and was well known by the nickname “the Black Cat,” a name earned for his uncanny luck—especially when it came to rub-offs. He was a devoted fan of the Michigan Wolverines, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies, rarely missing a game and always cheering on his teams with enthusiasm.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Tiffany “Tiffy” Dietz, of Frackville; his two sons, Austin Dietz and his wife, Brooke, of Ringtown, and Dylan Dietz, of Frackville. He was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild, a baby girl Kinsley,—a blessing that brought him great happiness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 7th, at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 West Washington Street, Frackville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
