    Vida Kelly Dietz, 60, of RD1 Klingerstown, was found dead at her home Thursday morning. Deputy Coroner Lawrence E. Rothermel, RD Klingerstown, stated death appeared to be due to natural causes, pending an autopsy. Mrs. Dietz was last seen Sunday evening.
    She was born at Loganton, Clinton County, Jan. 14, 1920, a daughter of Mrs. Julia Lehman Kelly and the late Boise Kelly.
    She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, RD Klingerstown, and Mahantongo Fire Company Auxiliary, Pitman.
    Her husband, Williard K. Deitz, died. Aug. 16, 1975.
    Surviving, in addition to her mother, of Loganton, are a daughter, Bernice, wife of Ralph Snyder, RD Pitman; two sons, Donald Dietz, RD1 Hegins, and Dennis Deitz, Hayward, Wis; six grandchildren; four sisters, Rosalie, wife of Guy Nicholas, Georgie, wife of Glenn Lupoid, Viola, wife of Paul Kieffer, all of Loganton, Lorraine, wife of Earl Snyder, Jersey Shore; one brother, John Kelly, Jersey Shore.
    Services will be held Saturday afternoon from Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD1 Klingerstown. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery. The Rev. Eldon Ehrhart will officiate. There will be no calling hours.

    Bernice K. Snyder, age 86 formerly of Pitman, passed away on April 10, 2024 at Ecumenical Retirement Community in Harrisburg.
    Born January 19, 1938 in Rough and Ready, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Vida (Kelly) Dietz.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Snyder, and a brother, Dennis Dietz.
    She is survived by a brother, Ronald Dietz (Deanna), a sister in law, Shirley Dietz, wife of Dennis; son Michael Snyder (Kelly) and daughter Bonnie Bixler (Keith); four grandchildren, Julia Becker (Michael), Emily Bixler (Brandon), Alexander Snyder (Nikki), and Jonathan Snyder (Courtney), four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
    Bern was a 1955 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and earned bachelors and masters degrees from Bloomsburg Teachers College.
    She was a member of Zion EC Church, Pitman, where she helped with Missionary Society, Good News Club, and the Piecemakers Quilt group.
    She was an active member of the Pitman Fire Company Auxiliary, serving as Treasurer and receiving an award for her years of service.
    Services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 11 am, at Zion EC Church, Pitman, with Rev. Todd Wolfe officiating. Visitation will be held form 10 am to 11 am on Wednesday at the church.
    Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Rough and Ready.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mahantongo Fire Company, 102 Main Road, P.O. Box 99, Pitman PA 17964 or Zion Evangelical Church; 247 Zion Church Rd, Pitman, PA 17964.

    PITMAN - Ralph D. Snyder, 65, of Pitman RD1 died at 11:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 1994, at his home. He had been ill for a year.
    Born Nov. 13, 1929, in Pitman RD1, he was a son of the late John W. and Hannah (Herb) Snyder.
    He married the former Bernice K. Dietz at Klingerstown RD1 on Dec. 17, 1960.
    Mr. Snyder was a dairy farmer, retiring in 1991.
    He was a Protestant.
    He attended Hegins Township High School. He was stationed in Germany while serving in the Army.
    He was a member of the Mahantongo Fire Company and Woodmen of the World Camp 433, both of Pitman. He was a director of the Northwestern Mutual Fire Insurance Co.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Bonnie Bixler of Hershey and Michael R. of Pitman RD1; three grandchildren; four brothers, Jack Herb of Orwigsburg RD1, J. Timothy Snyder of Pitman RD1, Carl J. Snyder of Pitman RD1 and P. Dean Snyder of West Chester; and sister, June Kehres of Tower City.
    He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Schwartz.
    The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD1, by the Rev. Charles E. Snyder, pastor of the 29th Street United Methodist Church, Harrisburg.
    Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown RD1.

    Dennis Richard Dietz, born December 26, 1945, passed away at his home in Hayward, Wisconsin on June 20, 2023. Of his 77 years, 50 were spent married to one woman, and 30 were spent in productive work for one company. He was a man of commitment and was faithful to his word.
    He grew up in Pennsylvania and excelled in his studies at Penn State, receiving his PhD in Physics in 1971. He loved the education field and taught for a number of years in small private institutions, did private tutoring, and never missed an opportunity to teach even in everyday conversations with family, friends and clients. He read widely and was suspected of having a near photographic memory.
    He became a well-known resource in the area of ventilation during his years working for American Aldes Ventilation. He invented an apparatus for passively controlling airflow and had it patented. He traveled all over the U.S. as a troubleshooter for air quality problems and had many friends among his clients.
    He had a wonderful baritone voice and was also skilled with the trumpet and other horns. He was a dedicated member of the Manatee Community Band in Bradenton, FL for many years.
    He most wanted to be known as a follower of Jesus Christ and served in various roles in churches he attended. His faith was especially important to him during his last years living with Lewy Body Dementia.
    He loved to tell jokes, especially if they were puns or had to be explained. He was a kind man and much loved and appreciated by his wife Shirley, and his daughters Julia Dietz Shanahan (Kevin) and Esther Dietz Armstrong (Ryan Bruels). He is also survived by family in Pennsylvania, a brother Ron Dietz (Deanna), sister Bernice Snyder and nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at the Hayward Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ron Smith presiding. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.2

    NEW BERLIN — Charles Edmund Berie Brown, 76, of 720 Vista Heights Drive, entered into rest at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
    He was born Oct. 31, 1937, in Lewisburg, the son of the late Charles and Marguerite (Shaffer) Berie. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harvey Brown. On May 25, 1978, in Selinsgrove, he married the former Barbara K. Hollenbach, who survives.
    Charles was a 1955 graduate of Northumberland High School. He was employed as a district manager for the Harrisburg Patriot News for 22 years, retiring in 2000.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Lea and Raymond Opiela, of Yakima, Wash; one step-daughter, Michelle Dauberman, of Philadelphia; and three grandchildren, Joshua Opiela, Christopher Opiela and Elizabeth Dorenbacher.
