    MRS. CLARA M. KLINGER
    Mrs. Clara M. Klinger, wife of Walter Klinger, died suddenly at her home on Maple Avenue early Sunday morning, her death being attributed to lukemia. About four weeks before her death she was scratched by a cat, and blood poisoning developed but this apparently had subsided when lukemia developed. Arrangements were being made to have her taken to the Pottsville Hospital when she took a sudden turn for the worse Sunday morning.
    Mrs. Klinger was almost a lifelong resident of Tower City. She was born at Gratz on June 17, 1893, and was a daughter of the late David L. Troutman and wife, nee Rachel Miller. The family had been residents of Tower City for the past forty years. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Mary, wife of Lloyd Underkoffler, of Schuylkill Haven; Dorothy, wife of Ben Bohr, of Tower City; Bruce, in the U. S. Navy; Marion, Helen and Larry, at home. There also survive four brothers, Gurney Troutman, of Baltimore, Md; James, of Philadelphia; Edward and Chas., of Tower City, and Lillian, wife of Lloyd Daub, of Ashland.
    She was a member of the Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Daughters of America, of Tower City.
    The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late residence on Maple Avenue. Services were conducted by Rev. M. J. Brinton, pastor of the Methodist Church, and interment made in Greenwood cemetery.
    Funeral directors Helt and Snyder had charge.

Christ Luthern Church, Schuylkill Haven, a member and past program chairman of Senior Citizens Fellowship Group, Schuylkill Haven, a member and former treasurer of Lutheran Church's Women's Missionary Society of Eastern Pennsylvania, now called Luthern Church Women.
    Surviving are her husband, Lloyd E; two daughters, Judith, Greensboro, N.C., and Jane Johnson, Durham, N.C; two granddaughters; two sisters, Dorothy Bohr, Montoursville, and Marian Welsh, New Cumberland; a brother, Larry Klinger, Washington, D.C.

  • By 1918, John and his family had moved to Akron, OH. When John registered for the draft on June 5, 1917, he was living in Akron and working as a tire builder for B.F. Goodrich.6,2

    The funeral will be held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Miller, Tuesday morning.
