MRS. CLARA M. KLINGER
Mrs. Clara M. Klinger, wife of Walter Klinger, died suddenly at her home on Maple Avenue early Sunday morning, her death being attributed to lukemia. About four weeks before her death she was scratched by a cat, and blood poisoning developed but this apparently had subsided when lukemia developed. Arrangements were being made to have her taken to the Pottsville Hospital when she took a sudden turn for the worse Sunday morning.
Mrs. Klinger was almost a lifelong resident of Tower City. She was born at Gratz on June 17, 1893, and was a daughter of the late David L. Troutman and wife, nee Rachel Miller. The family had been residents of Tower City for the past forty years. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Mary, wife of Lloyd Underkoffler, of Schuylkill Haven; Dorothy, wife of Ben Bohr, of Tower City; Bruce, in the U. S. Navy; Marion, Helen and Larry, at home. There also survive four brothers, Gurney Troutman, of Baltimore, Md; James, of Philadelphia; Edward and Chas., of Tower City, and Lillian, wife of Lloyd Daub, of Ashland.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Daughters of America, of Tower City.
The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late residence on Maple Avenue. Services were conducted by Rev. M. J. Brinton, pastor of the Methodist Church, and interment made in Greenwood cemetery.
Funeral directors Helt and Snyder had charge.
