     Erma Swartzlander was born on 8 June 1905, Hubley Township, Schuylkill County, PA.1 She married Roy Calvin Schade in 1922.2 Erma Swartzlander died on 9 May 1984, Valley View, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 78.1 She was buried at Union Cemetery, Sacramento, Schuylkill County, PA.1

     Marlin Edward Shade was born on 29 January 1924, Spring Glen, Schuylkill County, PA.1 He was the son of Roy Calvin Schade and Erma Swartzlander. Marlin Edward Shade married Eva Florence Klinger, daughter of Joel Orlando Klinger and Adeline Bruella Wiest.2 Marlin Edward Shade died on 9 April 2000, Sacramento, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 76.1

Marlin E. Shade
Marlin E. "Jockey" Shade, 76, of RR1 Sacramento, died Sunday morning at home. He had been in ill health for three years.
Born in Spring Glen, Jan. 29, 1924, he was a son of the late Roy C. and Erma E. Schwartzlander Shade. He was educated in the Hubley Township High School.
He was a farmer and coal miner, retiring in 1972. He was employed by Bowman Brothers, Valley View, as a school bus driver and Bixler's Meats, RR1 Hegins.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman, and was caretaker of Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Erdman, for many years. He helped to organize the former TriValley CB Club, Hegins area. He was a member of Spruce Spring Hunting Camp, Miffin County, Erdman Sportsmen's Association, Diamond Jubilee VFW Post 2385, RR1 Lykens, Valley Lodge 797, F&AM, Valley View, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Millersburg Forest 125, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Harrisburg, Gratz Fire Company, Sacramento Fire Company and Klingerstown Fire Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Eva F. Klinger, on April 21, 1992; two infant sons in 1943; two brothers, Leroy and Russell Schade.
Surviving are a daughter, Alice F. Graby, Annville; a son, David R., Sacramento; a sister, Joyce Harner, Camp Hill; a brother, Robert Schade, Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Petruschke will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Erdman. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
