Alvin O. Zimmerman, 85, Halifax. R. D. 2. died Tuesday night at his home.
Mr. Zimmprman a retired farmer, son of the late Nathan and Martha Sweigard Zimmerman, was born in Jackson Township on March 18, 1877.
He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ at Halifax, R. D. 2. His wife, the former Carrie Rebecca Klinger, died a numoer of years ago.
Surviving are six sons: Ralph, of Orwigsburg; Norman, Ray and John, all of Halifax. R. D. 2; Mark, of Halifax; Herbert, Camp Hill: a stepson, Samuel Klinger, of Ickesburg; two brothers. Norman Zimmerman, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Raymond, of Halifax R. D. 2; three sisters: Mrs. David, Schultz, of Penbrook; Mrs. Irvin Messner, Lykens; Mrs. Lucretia Snyder, of Halifax. R. D. 2; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon from the Hoover Funeral Home, Berrysburg. The Rev. George W. Moyer will officiate at the services. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Halifax, R. D. 2.

Born in Wiconisco, he was the son of Alvin O. and Carrie R. Klinger Zimmerman. He retired in 1965 after being employed 20 years at Fairmount Foundry, Hamburg.
He was a member of St. John's UCC, Orwigsburg, Friendship Hose Co., No. 1, Orwigsburg and Fire Police Assn.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, John Mauser, Mary Schoffstall, and Anna Portzline. Son-in-Law, Larry Helt.
There will be a viewing at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Inc., Elizabethville on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 10-11 AM with services at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at St. James Cemetery in Halifax.

MIDDLETOWN - Thomas F. Shoop, 75, of Mill Street, passed away December 30, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Dauphin County, PA, September 17, 1933, the son of the late Albert and Mary (Zimmerman) Shoop.
He was a retired shoe salesman for Irving Shoes, Lebanon.
Surviving are his wife, Janet A. (Barr) Shoop at home; 2 sons, Dale Barr, Lebanon and Ricky Lear, Pompano Beach, FL; brother, John Shoop, Halifax; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, David Lear and Michael Lear; daughter, JoAnn Weaver and brother, Daniel Shoop.
Memorial services will be held at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., Elizabethville on January 5, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Ray Hackett officiating. Inurnment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax. Friends will be received Monday, January 5, 2009 from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home.

He was a retired truck driver for Hempt Bro's, Camp Hill. He was a member of St. James Church, Carsonville.
He was the widow of Brandalee Kathryn (Hoover) Shoop. Surviving are, a son, Rick A. Shoop, Halifax; 3 daughters, Dorita K. Crawford, Halifax, Joanne K. Hernandez, Tower City and Trudy Romito, Lykens; 15 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas F. Shoop.
Services will be held at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes, Inc, Elizabethville on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ray Hacket officiating.

She was born on June 10, 1939, the daughter of the late Clair and Kathryn (Pinkerton) Hoover. She was the wife of John D. Shoop.
She was loved by her family and will be missed by all.

Irvin Alvin Shoop, age 17 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shoop, Carsonville, died at his parents' home Wednesday morning.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Clyde, of Williamstown; John and Thomas, at home; and his grandfather, Alvin Zimmerman of Carsonville.
Services will be held from the Alvin Zimmerman residence at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. G. W. Moyer, pastor of the Halifax Reformed Charge, will officiate and interment will be in the St. James Reformed Church Cemetery at Carsonville.
Friends may call at the Zimmerman residence Saturday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
