Paul Bucher Dies Of Shotgun Wound
Paul R. Bucher, Herndon RD died Saturday at 2:45 p.m. of a self-inflicted shotgun wound in his home, police said. A self- employed truck driver, he was 51 years of age and a veteran of World War II.
Shamokin State Police said death was caused by a shotgun wound of the head. There was apparently no one else at home at home at the time of the tragedy.
Bucher was born Sept 7, 1919, at Red Cross, the son of Mrs. Anna Erdman Bucher of Pillow and the late Harry Bucher.
Having spent his lifetime in the Herndon area, he was self-employed as a truck driver, and was transporting steel at the time of his death.
A veteran of WW II, he serv ed in the European Theatre. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Red Cross, and Legion Post 405.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his widow, the former Margaret E. Klock; one son, Kevin, at home; one daughter, Annette, wife of Richard Hoy Jr., Millersburg; three grandchildren and three sisters.
Services' will be conducted at p.m. Tuesday from the Rothermel Funeral Home Herndon, with Rev. Irvin Straw, his pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park.
There will be no visitation.

Bucher married Charles Harvey Deppen, son of Harvey Arthur Deppen and Blanche Mae Hepner, on 16 March 1945, Elkton, MD.2,3,4 Arlene S. Bucher died on 9 January 2011, Tremont Nursing Home, Tremont, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 87.1

Arlene S. Deppen, 87, of West Broad Street, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Tremont Nursing Home. She was born August 4, 1923 in Northumberland County, the daughter of the late Harry, and Anna (Erdman) Bucher.
She was a graduate of the Pine Park High School of 1941. She was a retired seamstress from the former Pillow Mfg. Co., Pillow.
She attended Salem UCC in Elizabethville and enjoyed helping at the Christmas bazaars, and enjoyed the friendship when making chow-chow. She was a member of the Elizabethville senior citizens, where everyone looked forward to her witty humor. She was a charter member of the Idella Rebekah Lodge #58 in Dornsife and served as a past Noble Grand. In 1989 she was awarded the degree of Chivalry while attending the state session in Pittsburgh. Her hobbies were playing Pinochle, making soups and funnel cakes for camp in Clinton County. She had resided in Hollywood Court Complex for 19 years and was supportive to her friends and neighbors.
She was the widow of Charles H. Deppen.
Survivors include four sons, Doyle, husband of Gerri Deppen, Elizabethville; Rodney, husband of Jean Deppen, Pillow, Dean, husband of Jane, Elizabethville, Stephen, husband of Candice Deppen, New Holland; two sisters, Lena Konyar, Treveorton, and Shirley Maurer, Red Cross; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded death by a brother Paul Bucher and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg from 10-10:45 am; Idella Rebekah Service at 10:45, and religious service at 11:00 am. Rev. Dan Shahan will officiate. Burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Lena devoted her life to being a housewife and mother.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Trevorton, the Trevorton Senior Action Center and Trevorton American Legion Post 92 Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies were bingo, variety puzzles, reading and playing cards.
In addition to her husband, she was survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Ray Krieger, of Allenwood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kim and Monica Konyar, of Hughesville, John and Julia Konyar, of Dover, and Ty and Melissa Konyar, of Halifax; five grandchildren, Angela, Alyssa, Jon, Jason and Chelsea; six great-grandchildren, Taiten, Thayne, Tralyn, Eveyn, Ava and Jay, and a sister, Shirley Maurer, of Dornsife.

John was a member of St. Patrick Church, Trevorton, and was the parish cemetery sexton for many years.
He was a member of Trevorton American Legion Post 92, Trevorton VFW Post 7813, Trevorton Senior Action Center and Hucklebuck Hunting Camp.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Ray Krieger, of Allenwood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kim and Monica Konyar, of Hughesville, John and Julia Konyar, of Dover, and Ty and Melissa Konyar, of Halifax; five grandchildren, Angela, Alyssa, Jon, Jason and Chelsea; six great-grandchildren, Taiten, Thayne, Tralyn, Eveyn, Ava and Jay; two sisters, Margaret Myers, of Elysburg, and Dolly Yocum, of Coal Township.

He was a member of Trevorton American Legion Post 92, Trevorton VFW Post 7813, Trevorton Senior Action Center and Hucklebuck Hunting Camp.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Ray Krieger, of Allenwood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kim and Monica Konyar, of Hughesville, John and Julia Konyar, of Dover, and Ty and Melissa Konyar, of Halifax; five grandchildren, Angela, Alyssa, Jon, Jason and Chelsea; six great-grandchildren, Taiten, Thayne, Tralyn, Eveyn, Ava and Jay; two sisters, Margaret Myers, of Elysburg, and Dolly Yocum, of Coal Township.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Grayson Jackson, and two sisters, Mary Bartholomew and Louise Rieger.
KONYAR — John J. Konyar, 82, of 713 Market St., Trevorton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Church, Trevorton, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, with the Rev. Adrian Gallagher as celebrant. Viewing will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Trevorton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's memory to Veterans Memorial Fund, c/o Trevorton American Legion, 527 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton 17881. Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W.
