Mrs. Nora A. Bowman, 7 76, of 5539 Canal Road, Harrisburg, a former resident of Halifax and a sister of Mrs. Cora Troutman, Herndon, died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, where she had been a patient for one week.
A daughter of John and Mary Ellen Corsnitz Shultz, she was born in Halifax and lived the major part of her life in Harrisburg RD area. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Fishing Creek. Her husband, Charles| Bowman, preceded her in death two years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Melvin, of Harrisburg, and Charles, Colonial Park; four grandchildren: one brother, Hiram M. Shultz, New Cumberland; a sister, Mrs. Cora Troutman, Herndon, and several nieces and nephews in the lower Northumberland County area.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Harrisburg RD, with burial in the Halifax cemetery. Rev. Roy Smith, her pastor, will officiate, assisted by Rev. John Fryberger, Shamokin.
Friends may visit the Rothermel funeral home, Herndon, Tuesday evening for viewing, and at Trinity church Wednesday from to time of the 'funeral services.

Melvin L. Bowman, 91, of Leidigh Drive, Boiling Springs, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 23, 1913, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Nora (Shultz) Bowman.
He was a 1931 graduate of Susquehanna High School and attended Churchtown Church of God.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eresta (Boyer) Bowman; a son, Ronald L. Bowman of Dauphin; two daughters, Joyce A. Arms of Dauphin and Jean A. Brugger of Boiling Springs; a niece; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Velma E. Bowman; and a brother, Charles I. Bowman, who died in 1994.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hoffman Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. John Good officiating. Burial will be in the Halifax United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday until time of services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, 351 Old Stone House Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.

Born October 31, 1917, in Duncannon, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Carrie Boyer.
Eresta is survived by her daughters, Joyce Arms of Dauphin, and Jean Brugger and husband Richard of Boiling Springs; son, Ronald and wife Brenda of Dauphin; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Velma Bowman.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Mrs. Mark Stroup
GRATZ - Mrs. Alma A. Stroup, 47, died Sunday at Polyclinic Hospital. She was a member of Simeons United Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, Mark S. Stroup; a son, Randolph M. and daughter, Sally L., both of Gratz; her father, Jay Brosious of Gratz; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hartman of Gratz and Mrs.
Lester Maurer of Klingerstown; a brother, William J. Brosious of Halifax; and a step-sister, Mrs. Orville Daniel of Gratz.
Private services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Simeons United Lutheran Church. Rev. Robert P. Logan, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Gratz Union Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.

Mark S Stroup, age 95, of Gratz, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at , UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born on Tuesday, November 21, 1922, in Gratz, a son of the late Samuel Stroup and the late Anna Woll Stroup.
Mark served in the US Navy during World War II.
He was a truck driver throughout his life, retiring from ABF. During his retirement Mark enjoyed caring for harness horses at the Gratz Fairgrounds.
He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz.
Mark was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 2385 of Gratz,
He was preceded in death by his wife Alma A Brosius Stroup; and by two sisters Orpha Harris and Ruth Ney.
He is survived by a son, Randolph M Stroup and his wife Teri of Lykens; a daughter, Sally L Stroup of Harrisburg; two grandsons, Matthew R Stroup of Danbury, CT and Ryan A Stroup and his wife Stacie of Palmyra; a granddaughter, Lauren E Stroup of Mechanicsburg; a great grandson, Joshua Stroup; a great granddaughter, Emily Stroup; and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Union Cemetery, Gratz, with Rev. Gregory Lindsey officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to VFW Post 2385, 424 Spectown Road, Lykens PA 17048.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
