He was purchasing agent for Singer Sewing Machine Co., Elizabeth, for 35 years, retiring in 1978. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Rogers was born in Bayonne and lived there before moving to Holiday City South 10 years ago.
  Surviving are his wife, June Gebo Rogers; two sons, Michael J. III, Texas, and Dennis J., Kentucky; a brother, Donald Rogers, Bayonne; three sisters, Dorothy Pagano, North Bergen, Evelyn Peddie, Clark Township, and Helen Melanchuk, Florida; three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. • Donald Joseph Rogers was born on 29 July 1926, Bayonne, Hudson County, NJ.^1,2
• He was the son of Michael J. Rogers and Hazel C. Worrell.¹
• Some sources list Donald's mother as Blanche Kraphf, or something similar. In 1940, apparently after Hazel and Michael separated, Blanche was living in Michael's household as a housekeeper. The 1950 Census suggests that she later married Michael Rogers. Given Donald's birth abour 14 years before Hazel remarried, it is likely that Hazel (Worrell) was Donald's mother, which is what her obituary says.^3,2,1
