    Christina M Masser, age 85, of Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, formerly of Pitman, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at StoneRidge Retirement Town Center, Myerstown.
    She was born on Thursday, December 22, 1938, in Pitman, a daughter of the late B Franklin Brosius and the late Lena M (Herb) Brosius.
    She was a 1956 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, finishing at the top of her class.
    Christina was secretary/treasurer of Upper Mahantongo Twp for many years. She also worked at Masser's Restaurant, Paxions, on the family farm, at Tri-Valley Radio Shack, Valley View, and drove school bus.
    She was a member of Christ Church, Leck Kill.
    Christina enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, socializing with family and friends, crocheting, cooking, canning, horse racing, was an avid Phillies fan, NASCAR fan, Jeff Gordon's #1 fan, and above all she loved being a mom. She was a resident at School Yard Square, Pine Grove, for a year, where she treasured her time with her new friends, who became part of her extended family.
    She was preceded in death by two sons, Mitchell Masser and Brent Masser, and two brothers Robert and David Brosius.
    She is survived by two daughters, Penny K Rissinger and her husband Scott of Annville and Angela A Byrne and her husband Jim of Jacksonville, FL; a son, Philip J Masser and his wife Bonnie of Elysburg; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman.
    A public Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Jack's Spot, 1071 Vista Road, Pitman, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 4:00 pm.
    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA , 18 Wertz Dr, Pine Grove, PA 17963.

    Mitchell J. Masser, 41, of Gap Street, Valley View, died Saturday evening as a result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident on Old State Road, RR1 Dornsife, Upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County.
    Born in Sunbury, Sept. 4, 1962, he was a son of Christina M. Brosius Masser, Valley View, and James H. Masser, Klingerstown.
    He attended Tri-Valley High School Hegins, and was employed as a laborer for Wehry Brothers Farms, RR1 Dornsife.
    He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Leck Kill, and Erdman Sportsman's Association, Erdman.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Brent L. on June 26, 1991.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Cindy N. Erdman, whom he married on Aug. 10, 1985; two daughters, Megan M. Masser, Williamstown, and Malery M. Masser, Valley View; a son, Mitchell Masser, Valley View; a stepson, Brent S.     Charles O. Strohecker, 59, of Herndon R.D., a carpenter foreman for the Pennsylvania Railroad, died at 5:30 p.m. .Saturday in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, of a lingering illness. He was hospitalized for the past month.
    Born November 18, 1903, in Hebe, the son of the late James and Sarah Reigle Strohecker, he had been a resident of the Herndon area for his lifetime. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Herndon. He was also a member of Herndon Lodge 702, Free and Accepted Masons, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes; Herndon Fire Company, and Pioneer Rod and Gun Club.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Mabel A. Hollenbach; seven children, William J., Hickory Corners; Charles L., at home; Anna May, Mrs. . Harry Shultz, Fredericksburg, R.D; Joyce, Mrs. Charles Manhart, Colonial Park, Harrisburg; Iris, Mrs. Truman Rebuck, Herndon: Lela,Mrs. Barney Adams, at home and Marjory, Mrs. Marlin Strohecker, Pottstown. Thirteen grandchildren also survive, as well as two sis ters, Mrs. Calvin Williams, Herndon, R.D., and Mrs. Robert Zimmerman, Halifax, and two brothers, Wesley Strohecker, Highland Park, and George, of Ashland, R.D.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday from the Rothermel funeral home, Herndon, with burial in the Herndon Cemetery. Rev. J. M. Singer, United Church of Christ pastor, Herndon, will officiate.
    Friends wil be received at the funeral home this evening. Herndon Lodge 702, F&AM, will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m., and lodge members will serve as pallbearers Tuesday.

    She was born Aug. 19, 1902, in Herndon, Northumberland County, a daughter of the late William and Maude (Burrell) Hollenbach. She was married to Charles O. Strohecker who preceded her in death in 1963.
    Mrs. Strohecker was a homemaker.
    She was a charter member of the Lower Northumberland County Senior Citizens Association.
    Surviving are four daughters. Anna Mae Schultz of Palmyra. Joyce Manhart of Sunbury, Iris Mellott of Plant City. Fla., and Marjorie Strohecker of Pottstown; two sons, William James Strohecker of Herndon and Charles L. Strohecker of Herndon; and 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lela Ross one grandson. Jamey Strohecker; one great-granddaughter. Heather Schick; and one great-grandson. Chuckie Manford.
    Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Market and Chestnut streets; Pillow. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the Rev. George Heberling.
    Burial will be in Herndon Cemetery.
