    Witmer Rites
    The funeral of Mrs. Minnie S. Witmer, 79, formerly of 147 iW. Grand Tower City, who died Wednesday, night at Rest Haven, will be held Sunday afternoon from the Stewart Dreisigacker Funeral Home, Tower City. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Her pastor, the Rev.
    Elmer C. Clouser, will officiate.
    Mrs. Witmer was born at RD Hegins, daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Engle Lubold. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.
    Her husband, Conrad Witmer, died in 1937.
    Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Faye Deiter, Tower City; two sons, Leroy Muir; Kenneth, Tower City; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren one sister, Mrs. Jennie Kopp, Baltimore, Md.

    Audrey R. Carl, 69, of Tower City, passed away Monday morning, June 12, 2023 in Millersburg.
    Born in Lykens, January 21, 1954, a daughter of the late James Deiter and Faye Witmer Deiter-Kissinger.
    Audrey worked for many years as a seamstress in the local garment industry.
    She was of the Methodist Faith.
    Surviving are her husband Daniel Carl; her children, Stacy Deiter (Rhonda), Florida, Steven Leitzel (Josey), Florida, and Tracy Leitzel (Nancy), Tower City; two brothers, James Deiter (Lori), Tower City and Jeffrey Deiter, Florida; a sister, Kathy Ahrensfield (Henry), Gordon; two stepchildren, Randy Carl (Lori), Minersville, and Tim Carl (Cassandra), Williamstown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.
    Following Audrey's wishes, there will be no formal services.

    JOHN S. DEITER
    John S. Deiter, 47 years, died at his home south of Tower City on Sunday night at 9:30 o'clock, a half hour after suffering a heart attack. He had apparently been in good health before the seizure.
    Mr. Deiter was born at Sacramento, Hubley Township, on January 11, 1905. He had been a resident of Porter Township since his marriage on Christmas Day, 1926, to Susan Adams, who survives, together with the following children Irvin, Tower City R. D. Elsie, wife of Lars Klingman, of Millersburg; James, at home; Cpl. Frank Adams, who just recently left for Germany; Pfc. William Adams, located in Hawaii; Elizabeth and Nancy, at home. There are three grandchildren, one of whom, a boy, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Adams on Monday, the day after his death.
    Two sisters, Mrs. Harry Hoffman, of Williamstown, and Mrs. Earl Moyer, of Tower City, also survives.
    Mr. Deiter was a miner by occupation, and had been employed for several years as a hoisting engineer at an independent mine. He was also a well known apiarist, with a large nuVnber of bee hives.
    The funeral will be held this Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Dreisigacker funeral home, Tower City. Services will be conducted by Rev. Lloyd Beamesderfer, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Tower City. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.

    He was born Sept. 6, 1965, in Pottsville, the son of Thomas H. and Violet (Wolfe) Snyder of Lykens.
    Mr. Snyder was employed by Sunbury Motors as a mechanic.
