    Donald E. Klinger, 73, of Poplar Terrace, 605 S. Eighth St., Lebanon, died Friday, May 4, 1984, in his home.
    Born in Lykens, he was a son of the late Fred and Minnie Hensell Klinger. He was a retired employee of the Lebanon Steel Foundry and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
    Surviving are his wife, Betty Shetter Klinger; children Frances, wife of Charles Newhouse, Myerstown; James R. Klinger, Wernersville; Ronald E. Klinger, Lebanon; and Michael E. Klinger, Myerstown; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    Ronald J. Klinger, 69, of Reading, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at home. He was the husband of Theresa M. (Herr) Klinger, with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage on March 23, 2014.
    Born in Lebanon on June 9, 1944, he was a son of the late Donald E. Klinger and Betty Mae (Shetter) Klinger.
    Ronald worked for and later retired from Hershey Foods. Retirement became boring, however, so he then worked at Manheim Auto Auction for eight years. He was an avid bowler and member of the Lebanon District Hall of Fame. He coached Little League and adult softball as well as junior league bowling. Ronald was a devoted Phillies fan who loved spending time with his dog, "Keisha".
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children - Ronald C. Klinger, husband of Vicki Klinger, Tammy Klinger, wife of Wayne Hainly, Greg Kreiser, Jennifer Miranda, wife of Jerry Miranda, and Andrea Collazo, wife of Edgar Collazo; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; two brothers - James and Michael Klinger; a sister, Frances Newhouse; and several nieces and nephews.
    A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 31st at 11 AM with a visitation from 10-11 AM at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon 17042. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald's name may be made to The American Cancer Society, Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042.     John W. Carl, 88, of Herndon, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at his home.
    He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Jackson Township, a son of James F. Carl and Bertha Zeiders. On Aug.14,1953, in Herndon, he married the former Barbara J. Snyder who preceded him in death. They celebrated a marital union of 43 years.
    John was a lifelong resident of Herndon. He was a 1948 graduate of Lower Mahanoy Township High School and served in the Army from 1951-1953.
    He was a retired carpenter and spent many hours helping his son James on his farm.
    John was a member of the former Seibert E.C. Church of Herndon where he served for many years on the board, and a member of the Herndon Fire Company.
    He is survived by three sons and one daughter and their spouses, Stanley and Mary Lee of Roy, Utah, James and Tina of Herndon, Bruce and Sharon of Halifax, and Trudy and Robert Pettine of Collegeville; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Norma, and one sister, Nancy Rebuck, all of Herndon.
    He was preceded in death by five brothers, James, George, Ralph, Dean and Fred.
    A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at New Life E.C. Church (formerly Peifer's E.C.), 337 Mandata Road, Herndon, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Bradley D. Hatter officiating.
    Burial will follow in the Herndon Cemetery.
    Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
