Pauline L. "Poll" Heim, 80, of 96 Smith Road, Pitman, died Sunday morning at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she was a patient since Jan. 11.
Born in Pitman, Oct. 4, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Carlos Erdman and Minnie Mae Smith Kessler.
She was educated in Pitman area schools.
She was a homemaker, farm laborer, and did cleaning for various people in the area.
"Poll" loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed attending her church and assisting area friends with transportation to appointments.
She was a life-long member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mabel, and a member of Mahantongo Senior Citizens, Pitman.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry J. Hepler, on April 3, 1963: three sons, Robert, Carl and an infant son, Allen Hepler; stepchildren; Avice Morgan, Hilda Nelson, Pauline Harner and Frank Hepler; a sister, Maude L. Heim 21, 2007 Smith; a brother, John Kessler.
Surviving are her husband, Guy W. Heim, whom she married on May 11, 1989; three children, Edith Brokenshire and her husband, James Sr., Shamokin, Ricky Hepler, and his wife, Debbie, and Karen Tietsworth and her husband, Randal, all of Pitman; a stepson, Alvin Hepler, Baltimore, Md; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell and George Zimmerman, both of Pitman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Church of Christ in Christian Union at Mabel, 952 Deep Creek Road, Ashland, with the Rev. David M. Stout Jr. officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in St. John's "Kimmel's" Lutheran and UCC Cemetery Ashland. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Carlos Erdman
Carlos George Lee 'Shorty' Erdman, 59, died in his home 552 North St., Lykens, Tuesday at 4:40 a.m.
Mr. Erdman was a native of Leek Kill a member of the Pitman Church of God, and a member of Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Cora Mauser two daughters: Ortha, wife of Ernest Weist, Lykens and Grace, wife of Wayne Evans, Lykens five grandchildren and one great-grandchild his father and stepmother, W.W. and Anna Erdman of Harrisburg two brothers: Harold, of Lykens and Guy, of Tremont sister, Edyth, wife of Thurnan Hepler of Lykens.
Funeral services will be held from the Roy W. D. Schatfstall Funeral Home, 537 Main St., Lykens, Friday afternoon. The Rev. Samuel H. Stoner, will officiate.
Interment will take place in the Maple Grove cemetery, Elizabethvlle.

Mrs. Minnie Kessler
Mrs. Minnie Kessler, 64, of Valley Viw, died on Friday in Pottsville Hospital, where she was admitted as a medical patieint on Feb. 26.
Mrs. Kessler, the former Minnie Smith, was born in the Mahantongo Valley.
She was a member of the Church of God.
She was a daughter of the late John H. Smith and Lena Snyder Smith.
Surviving are five children: Maude Smith of Valley View, John Kessler of Pitman, Pauline, wife of Harry Hepler of Pitman, Russell Zimmerman and George Zimmerman, both of Valley View; also five grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon from Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD. D. Interment will be in Church of God Cemetery at Pitman. The Rev. Russell Aults of Valley View will officiate at services.
