  Pauline L. "Poll" Heim, 80, of 96 Smith Road, Pitman, died Sunday morning at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she was a patient since Jan. 11.
  Born in Pitman, Oct. 4, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Carlos Erdman and Minnie Mae Smith Kessler.
  She was educated in Pitman area schools.
  She was a homemaker, farm laborer, and did cleaning for various people in the area.
  "Poll" loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed attending her church and assisting area friends with transportation to appointments.
  She was a life-long member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mabel, and a member of Mahantongo Senior Citizens, Pitman.
  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry J. Hepler, on April 3, 1963: three sons, Robert, Carl and an infant son, Allen Hepler; stepchildren; Avice Morgan, Hilda Nelson, Pauline Harner and Frank Hepler; a sister, Maude L. Heim 21, 2007 Smith; a brother, John Kessler.
  Surviving are her husband, Guy W. Heim, whom she married on May 11, 1989; three children, Edith Brokenshire and her husband, James Sr., Shamokin, Ricky Hepler, and his wife, Debbie, and Karen Tietsworth and her husband, Randal, all of Pitman; a stepson, Alvin Hepler, Baltimore, Md; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell and George Zimmerman, both of Pitman.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Church of Christ in Christian Union at Mabel, 952 Deep Creek Road, Ashland, with the Rev. David M. Stout Jr. officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in St. John's "Kimmel's" Lutheran and UCC Cemetery Ashland. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

• William Henry Heim is also referred to as Charles Heim in some sources. Some Internet sources list Guy William Heim's father as "Charles Heim," but it is not clear what evidence supports this. It is cleart that "William Henry Heim" was married to and divorced from Guy's mother, Laura Savidge, and William Henry's obituary lists "Guy W. Heim" as his son.^3,4,5
• He was born on 5 April 1905, Hegins Township, Schuylkill County, PA.⁶
• He married Laura Emma Savidge, daughter of Samuel K. Savidge and Mary Maglada Boyer, on 11 November 1927, Hagerstown, MD.^1,2
• William Henry Heim and Laura Emma Savidge were divorced in December 1934 Schuylkill County, PA; Although some Internet sources list Laura's first husband as "Charles Heim," it is more probable that his name was "William H. Heim." One newspaper reported in December, 1934, that Laura was granted a divorce from Wm H. Heim. of Hegins from Twp., on charges of desertion dating from Dec. 20, 1929, hitherto. The couple were married on Nov. 11, 1927, at Hagerstown, Md."¹

  William Henry Heim, 56, of Tower City RD, died early Monday morning in Pottsville Hospital, where he had been a medical patient.
  Mr. Heim was born in Hegins Township on April 5, 1905, a son of the late Lewis and Carrie Engle Heim.
  A former laborer, he had been employed in the mines and also a truck driver in the Tower City area.
  Surviving are, a son Guy W. Heim of Quakake; two brothers, George A. of Hegins and Charles of Douglassville RD.
  His mother died in 1951 and his father died on Oct. 17,1961. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon from Buf-| fington Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Ralph W. Bagger, pastor of Friedens United Lutheran Church at Hegins, officiated. Burial was made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.

• Minnie Mae Smith and Carlos George Lee Erdman had a relationship, but no marriage records were found for them. They did apparently have a child together (Pauline L. Smith), but Census records and newspaper obituaries do not support the existence of any marriage.^4,5

  Mr. Erdman was a native of Leek Kill a member of the Pitman Church of God, and a member of Woodmen of the World.
  He is survived by his wife, formerly Cora Mauser two daughters: Ortha, wife of Ernest Weist, Lykens and Grace, wife of Wayne Evans, Lykens five grandchildren and one great-grandchild his father and stepmother, W.W. and Anna Erdman of Harrisburg two brothers: Harold, of Lykens and Guy, of Tremont sister, Edyth, wife of Thurnan Hepler of Lykens.
  Funeral services will be held from the Roy W. D. Schatfstall Funeral Home, 537 Main St., Lykens, Friday afternoon. The Rev. Samuel H. Stoner, will officiate.

  She was a daughter of the late John H. Smith and Lena Snyder Smith.
  Surviving are five children: Maude Smith of Valley View, John Kessler of Pitman, Pauline, wife of Harry Hepler of Pitman, Russell Zimmerman and George Zimmerman, both of Valley View; also five grandchildren.
  Funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon from Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD. D. Interment will be in Church of God Cemetery at Pitman. The Rev. Russell Aults of Valley View will officiate at services.
