    TOWER CITY - Dale W. Deiter, 76, of Grand Avenue, passed away Tuesday at the Community General Hospital, Harrisburg.
    Born in Tower City, November 19, 1934, a son of the late John H. and Myrtle Ritzman Deiter.
    Dale was a 1952 Graduate of Tower City High School and was very active and President of the reunion committee.
    He was a retired plumber from the family business, the former J. H. Deiter & Sons, Tower City.
    Dale served as Mayor of Tower City for over 41 years, being honored in 2003 as Mayor of the Year for the state of Pennsylvania. He was also honored in 2003 as the Tower City Citizen of the year.
    He was very active with the Tower Porter Rotary Club, where he served as Secretary and a Paul Harris Fellow. Dale had over 30 years of perfect attendance in Rotary.
    He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City. He was an active member of the Ashlar Lodge #570 F&AM, Lykens, where he served as Master of Ceremonies; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine; Tremont Royal Arch Chapter #221; Upper Dauphin Shrine; Regal Council #65, Prince of Peace Commander #39. He was past president of Tower Porter Ambulance Association. He was president of the Old Home Week Committee; committee chair of the centennial and bicentennial in Tower City; Tower City Loyal Order of Moose #1603. He was past president of the Porter Tower Little League Association. He was also very active with the Porter Tower Civil Defense Committee.
    In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert and sisters, Pearl, Merle and Freda.
    Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Gladys V. Perhach Deiter; one son, John D. Deiter and his wife Kim, Harrisburg; two grandsons he was very proud of, Todd and Stephen Deiter; one sister, Eleanor Kimmel, Donaldson, one brother, John H. Deiter, Tremont; Nieces and Nephews.
    Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 11th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City with Rev. Edward Gobrecht. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening and 10-11 am Saturday at the Chapel. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 pm Friday evening. Memorial donations in Dale's memory should be made to the Tower Porter Ambulance Assoc. P.O. Box 33, Tower City, PA 17980 or Tower Porter Community Library, 230 E. Grand Avenue, Tower City PA 17980.

    Gladys V. Deiter, 91, of Tower City, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
    Gladys was born in Wiconisco on Sunday, September 10, 1933, a daughter of the late John and Vergie Sedesse Perhach. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
    She worked for many years with the family business, the former J.H. Deiter and Sons, Tower City, where she was the secretary and did bookkeeping. Prior to that, she worked for the Pennsylvania State Police where she was a Fingerprint Analyst.
    Gladys was a member of the former Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, Williamstown and was currently attending the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City.
    She was a member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Glen Chapter, Lykens and the Valley Girls Red Hat Society. Gladys was also a member of the former Tower Porter Rotary Club.
    She was very involved with the Tower Porter Improvement Organization, where she had served as the Secretary. She was instrumental in the annual Old Home Week Celebration in Tower City where she volunteered for over 50 years and could be found working in the office every night of the event.
    In 2018, Gladys was honored as the Grand Marshal of the Porter Tower Sesquicentennial Parade
    Her late husband, Dale W. Deiter served as the Mayor of Tower City for 41 years. Gladys could often be found assisting him at every event and was very knowledgeable on local history in the community.
    In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother John Perhach.
    Surviving are her son, John D. Deiter and his wife Kim; two grandsons she adored, Todd Deiter and his wife Skye and Stephen Deiter, both of Harrisburg; great grandchildren Bash and Blair Deiter; numerous nieces and nephews.
    A viewing will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 10-11 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City. Eastern Star services will be begin at 11:00 am followed by funeral services officiated by Pastor Amanda Bressler. Gladys will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the Greenwood Cemetery.
