    ELIZABETHVILLE - Lee W. Knorr, 96, formerly of Phillips Road, Elizabethville passed away March 16th at Manor At Susquehanna Village.
    He was born on Nov. 18, 1917 in Dornsife he was the son of Issac and Jenny (Strohecker) Knorr. He was the husband of the late Hilda A. (Dockey) Knorr and were happily married for 68 years. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses, Elizabethville.
    He was a lifelong farmer, and school bus owner and driver until his retirement in 1980 for Upper Dauphin School District. He was a loving father and husband, and deeply loved by his family.
    Surviving are two sons Ronald and his wife Ruth and Dennis and his wife Deborah both of Elizabethville; two daughters Marie Ressler and her husband George and of Karan Conley and her husband Larry both of Millersburg; two granddaughters Michele Lenker of Millersburg and Denise Gerlach of Elizabethville; a grandson Jordi Watts of Millersburg; three great-granddaughters Anya, Elizabeth and Mariah; a great-grandson Daren.
    Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

    Robert Elwood Maurer, 85, of Gratz, passed away peacefully Sunday morning with his loving family at his side at Harrisburg Hospital.
    Born near Weishample, Aug. 30, 1925, he was a son of the late Clarence and Cora Lucas Maurer. A 1943 graduate of Hegins Township High School, he proudly served his country during World War II in Central Europe-Rhineland.
    He was employed by M&G Convoy/Ryder Transportation, Wilmington, Del., for 35 years and retired Nov 1, 1982, to pursue his interests in gardening and, more importantly his treasured family. Robert was an active member of Simeon's United Lutheran Church, Gratz, where he served for numerous years on the council. In addition, he also served on the Gratz Borough Council and was a member of Gratz VFW.
    He was preceded in death by 11 sisters and brothers, Alverta Maurer, Gertie Maurer, Mae Dunkelburger, Mary Dietrich, Clara Ayrton, Alma Maurer, Thomas Maurer, Leon Maurer, Allen Maurer, Blanche Dziengiel and Edith Maurer.
    Surviving are his devoted wife of 61 years, Hannah Dockey Maurer; a daughter, Gail Miller and her husband, Ken, Gratz; granddaughters, Amelia Miller, Millersburg, and Jana Hoover and her husband, Brent, Halifax; a grandson, Robert and his wife, Cortney Miller, Millersburg; a great-granddaughter, Kennadie Nicole Miller; nieces and nephews.
    A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Simeon's United Lutheran Church, North Center Street, Gratz. Services will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Gratz Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sanctuary Fund at Simeon's United Lutheran Church, Box 478, Gratz, PA.     Joyce R. Masser, 81, of Pitman, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
    She was born Monday, Feb. 22, 1943, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Clyde Dockey and the late Helen (Deibler) Dockey.
    She was a 1961 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, graduating third in her class. She was also a member of the Tri-Valley band, president of the Commercial Club and a member of the homecoming court.
    Joyce worked on the family farm prior to her retirement.
    She was a member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Leck Kill, where she was a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher.
    Joyce enjoyed following the school sports and events of her children and grandchildren as well as all the farm events they participated in. She loved decorating for the four seasons and caring for her lawn, especially mowing, and hunting.
    She is survived by her husband, Timothy D. Masser, to whom she was married for 61 years.
    She is also survived by two sons, Michael Masser and Jeffery Masser, both of Pitman; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, at Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Leck Kill, with the Rev. Krista Keisling officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
    Burial will be in Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman.
