    SELINSGROVE -- Ralph Leroy Scholl, 66, of RR4 Selinsgrove, Monroe Township, Snyder County, entered into eternal rest at 8:24 p.m. . Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
    He was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late Henry Lloyd and Rosa Edna (Shrawder) Scholl. On July 16, 1964, he married the former Sandra Ann Miller, who survives. His passing breaks a strong and loving marital union of more than 41 years.
    Mr. Scholl completed his education while serving in the Army during the Vietnam era. He served from Feb. 18, 1957, until his honorable discharge on June 24, 1971, and earned the GCMDL (3rd.Awd), the VNSM, the NDSM, the VCM with 60 Dev. and three O/S Bars. His rank upon discharge was sergeant first class E-7. He retired from the Army, having made the service his career.
    Mr. Scholl was Protestant.
    He held a life membership in Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631, Selinsgrove, and was a member of the Dauntless Hook & Ladder Fire Company ambulance league, Selinsgrove.
    Mr. Scholl was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He had many friends and possessed the ability of telling jokes and always keeping laughter in his heart. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing at jam sessions in Beavertown and Beaver Springs. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was skilled in card playing.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Dwayne L. Miller and his wife Denise of Northumberland, Derwin A. Scholl and his companion Beth Houseknecht of RR1 Northumberland and Deirdre "Kay" Hansen and her husband Thomas D. of Mechanicsburg; an adopted son, Brett A. Scholl of Northumberland; three grandchildren, including Seythia VanDan and her husband of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Everett Scholl and his wife Helen of Beavertown; one sister, Shirley Lenker and her husband Clayton of Millersburg; and four generations of nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles, James, Sherman, Robert, Marvin and Arvin Scholl, and by five sisters, Dorothy Walls, Erma Gill, Virginia Scholl, Elsie . Wirth and Helen Ruhl.
    Family and friends will gather for the viewing from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, where the funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 by the Rev. Leon G. Scholl.
    Burial, with full military honors accorded by Selinsgrove American Legion Post 25, will be in Grubbs Cemetery, RR1 Mount Pleasant Mills.
